It's been a wild ride.

Ballistix® upped the bar yet again with an overclocking world record of 6024MT/s.

The win marks the third time Ballistix has climbed to the top of the super competitive overclocking leaderboard in recent months. In short, Ballistix is in it to win it.

The world record serves as an introduction to the fastest Ballistix gaming memory yet, the Elite 4000.  ASUS® and Micron® engineering teams joined forces to set the new record by fine-tuning BIOs settings. The record-setting rig used liquid nitrogen cooling,  AMD Ryzen™ 3600X CPU, and an ASUS® X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Impact motherboard.  And, of course, Ballistix 4000 8GB modules, which feature Micron die, provided the memory muscle.

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with Ballistix to achieve this new world record,” said Albert Chang, general manager of the motherboard BU of ASUS. “Both overclocking teams worked tirelessly to finetune BIOS settings on our newly-released ROG CROSSHAIR VIII IMPACT board to unleash the capabilities of the Micron die. Setting the new world record of 6024MT/s with Ballistix Elite 4000 memory on our new ROG AMD X570 motherboard is a powerful demonstration of the engineering excellence ASUS ROG and Micron bring to the gaming ecosystem.”

Ballistix set its first world record of 5726MT/s in May 2019, then soon rebroke the record with a speed of 5758.8MT/s. The world of competitive overclocking is merciless with overclockers constantly pushing the boundaries of the DDR4 memory generation.

Sure, Ballistix is proud of its latest achievement. But we hope our third record in recent memory makes a second point that is perhaps more important to our gaming audience: We’ve chased records. We’ve set records. We will innovate gaming products that scrap for every last megatransfer as we strive for our next high score — and help you set yours.

You can bet that Ballistix, the gaming brand of Micron’s Commercial Products Group, will remain in the hunt.

“Ballistix memory has set three overclocking world records in the span of five months, which is a testament to our world-class Micron engineering and expertise,” said Teresa Kelley, CPG  vice president and general manager. “We are committed to providing gamers and enthusiasts with high-performance memory that delivers maximum system capability and a rich experience, and our Ballistix memory is evidence of that.”
