Customers should verify processors are C Revisions for 266MHz FSB. If processor is B Revision the FSB is only 200MHz.According to ASUS, the A7A266 motherboard will accept ECC but will not operate it in ECC mode.Memory configurations for Windows 95/98/ME with greater than 256MB, require adjusting the Vcache settings as outlined by Microsoft article Q108079.Some owners of this motherboard may experience a loading issue when two 1GB DDR modules are used. We recommend installing no more than 1.5GB of DDR memory into this motherboard.

How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about OS memory maximums can be found here.
