SSDs typically offer much higher read and write speeds compared to HDDs, making them ideal for gaming.

    To check if your motherboard supports a specific type of RAM or SSD, you need to look at the motherboard's specifications. For SSDs, check for available slots (like M.2 or SATA) and ensure compatibility with the SSD's interface. Most modern motherboards support a variety of SSDs, but it's always good to double-check. You can also use tools like the Crucial System Scanner and Upgrade Selector to easily determine compatibility and find the right RAM or SSD for your system.

    The amount of storage you need depends on the size of your game library. Modern games can be quite large, often exceeding 50GB each. Given that the average triple-A game requires around 80-100GB of storage, you could fit approximately 10 to 12 of these games on a 1TB SSD. This estimate accounts for the typical size range of modern games, but keep in mind that some games might be larger, especially with updates and additional content. A 1TB SSD is a good starting point for most gamers, providing ample space for several games, applications and files. If you have a large library, consider a 2TB or larger SSD.

    The Crucial T500 is one of the best SSDs for the PlayStation®5. It offers excellent performance making it a great choice for expanding your console's storage. The PlayStation 5 comes with an 825GB SSD, but only 667.2GB of that is usable for games and apps due to system files. The Crucial T500 SSD, on the other hand, offers up to 4TB of storage for around 45 AAA games.
