I'm not sure how to recycle my old Ram. It would be nice if Crucial had a return envelope for them to recycle it properly. Just thinking it might be a nice way for the company to further its green initiative.

I just got my memory upgrade and WOW what a difference it makes. I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro and was a little concerned that the memory wouldn't work since Apple suggests you can only upgrade to 8MB. But given the other reviews suggesting it would work, I figured I would give it a try and am very happy that I did.

Prior to upgrading I thought I would need a new laptop soon given the generally slow application speed. I recently upgraded to Lightroom 6.7 and couldn't manage my workflow because of the speed of the computer. What was taking me hours (no kidding) is now taking minutes.

I have only just installed this so will be writing another review if the performance degrades but I have every expectation that it will continue to perform like a charm.

I only wish I knew about this sooner.

I use Photoshop and the web simultaneously for work, and my 15 macbook pro w/4 gig memory was completely overwhelmed by spikes in memory use. Spinning wheel of doom was my signal to go get a cup of coffee while my machine dealt with the task(s) at hand. With some skepticism, I just took five mins to pop in the 16 gig memory chip upgrade and I can't believe the difference. I am mad at myself for not doing it earlier. Massive difference!!
        Highly recommended.

This replace OEM memory chips. When I took the cover off, I saw the RAM chips I was replacing were made by the competition. So far, this install was easy and is running well. Was very worried before I bought. Glad I made the upgrade.

I had problems with other brands and tried Crucial after reading a lot of reviews. The RAM works perfectly, and I wish I'd gone to Crucial first. From my experience, what everyone says is true, it's a very reliable brand, with good quality RAM.

Usually, apparently if you run a hardware test at the Apple Store, the system doesn't recognise any RAM apart from Apple branded RAM, but it even recognised the Crucial brand as compatible, which is an unexpected bonus.
