My 3 year old MacBook Pro was running very sluggish. Took it to the Apple store. They cleaned it up and it helped somewhat. They suggested I upgrade the RAM. So I upgraded my MacBook Pro from 4GB to 16GB RAM. It was very easy to remove the 10 screws on the laptop back, pop the old memory out and insert the 2 new 8GB SIMMS. Now, it's like I have a new computer. The speed difference is very noticeable, especially when I run Parallels for Desktop.

Wow, my MacBook Pro has a new lease on life with this memory upgrade! I installed it and was backup and running in less than 10 minutes. I usually have many programs running at the same time and with 8GB of memory my MacBook Pro was running sluggish. According to the 'Memory Clean' app, I usually had less than 5% memory available. Now I have around 60% memory available with the same programs running.

I got this RAM for my Macbook Pro (early 2011) and it works fantastic. I can't recommend maxing out RAM enough. I can open so many tabs in my browser and nothing slows it down anymore. Makes me want to upgrade my desktop at home as well.

The price was more expensive than competitors, but I trust the Crucial brand.

I have used crucial when I needed additional memory for my wife's and my PCs. So when my younger son needed additional memory, I thought of crucial first. My younger son uses a MAC Bookpro. We used crucial's program to check the computer and identify the required memory. The memory showed up in a few days. It was easy to installed and has worked as expected.

                • Edit Raw Files

My 2 year old MacBookPro was taking longer and longer to edit RAW files. But before I considered buying a new computer, I wanted to install more memory to see if it would make a considerable difference.

After chatting with crucial tech support, I decided to give it a shot and purchase more memory. 3 days later it was in my hands and in less time it took me to watch the 'how-to', I had it installed. I have to say, the difference in speed is amazing!!!

I should mention that I am not very technologically suave…so huge props to crucial for making it so easy.

My early 2011 Macbook Pro came with the default 2x2GB RAM. Not bad at the time. I wanted to run a virtual box, and this was not really doable with the original 4GB. The upgrade to 2x8GB is perfect for this. It's also extremely easy to install. As soon as you take the bottom cover off of you laptop, the memory is directly accessible. Currently running Mavericks very smoothly.
