The website recommended a single 8 GB DIMM as an 8 GB upgrade for my late 2011 Macbook pro. Unfortunately, I did not pick up on the sites error until I received the memory. I ended up installing the 8 GB DIMM with one of the existing 2 GB DIMMS which works, but being mismatched is obviously not the optimal memory configuration.

This product works well with Mac's 2GB RAM

    By Roy the Scientist

My Late 2011 Macbook came with two 2GB sticks of RAM. I didn't want to shell out the money, nor does my computer use necessitate, 16GB of memory.

That is why I ordered one 8GB stick, and am using it in conjunction with one of the 2GB sticks that came with the computer. The internet was ambivalent at best about combining two different memory sizes, but I instantly felt a very real improvement. The collective 10GB of RAM I have now open programs faster, and most importantly, allows me to run a couple of heavy-memory programs. I have Mathematica, an SSH running MatLab, and Windows Office open at the same time with no complaints from my fans. Not to mention, a browser and iTunes/Spotify.

I use the 8GB*2 memory to increase my 2011 Mac performance. It frozen up every time I run Photoshop and Illustrator at the same time. ever since I installed 16GB memory card, my programs just so fly. Everything runs smoothly and I got my work done in no time and can multitask again!

I own a 13-inch, late 2011 MacBook Pro. Everything worked as advertised. Easy to install. No issues whatsoever, and very inexpensive product. Purchased RAM and SSD hard drive for a fraction of the cost of purchasing a new computer.

Installed this in my Macbook Pro which wouldn't boot citing a memory error. The most challenging task was finding a screwdriver small enough to open the Macbook case. Once in, replaced two 2 gb modules with this 8 gb and my mac was back up and running.
