I went to the Apple store looking to upgrade my Macbook Pro from 4GB to 8GB and they referred me to Crucial!!!. So, with this assurance in mind, I got the correct recommendation in minutes. However, I was a bit afraid until I gave it a go. However, I decided to go from 4GB to 16GB. I don't regret it. The 4GB expansion costs $200 at the Mac Store but I paid less that $150 for double the memory. Plus, I got a screwdriver, video instructions (on the web) and even bought a protection bracelet. So, I am ready for more memory upgrades and even a hard disk upgrade soon!.

    It worked!

    By John M.

Even though Apple said that my MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2011) could only go up to 8GB, Crucial said I could push it up to 16GB. Well, I installed it and it works just fine.

    How much memory is enough?

    By Lacking Memory

    • Not Much Performance Gain

    Best Uses

Purpose of the purchase was to upgraded a Apple MACBOOK Pro (13-inch Early 2011)from 4gb RAM to 16gb RAM.
The (2) 8gb SODIMM cards were easy to install and the OS pick the memory with no issues.
However, I experience little performance gain. Not what was expected.

Breathed new life into my wife's 2011 MacBook Pro. Simple instructions online, popped the old memory out, popped the new memory in, booted up without incident and just works. Both my wife and I noticed substantial improvement with latest MacOS (Sierra?).

I have previously purchased memory for my other Mac and it works great. I was looking to upgrade my laptop from 4GB to 16GB and Crucial provided the most cost effective option without having to buy a whole new laptop. I would definitely recommend to others. I also found Crucial's Advisor Tool very helpful to find the compatible products for my Mac systems.

          Memory made a big difference

          By Happy Customer

          from TN

This memory works great. Made a big difference in how it runs with more memory. It saved me from having to upgrade to a newer computer, which I wasn't ready to do at this time. It was fairly easy to follow the instructions and install. Along with ordering memory, I'd recommend ordering the little tool that they sell to remove the old memory. I didn't know to order it when I ordered my memory.

The SSD fits perfectly and has sped up MacBookPro 2011 majorly. I purchased a 16gb RAM with this and since then I never got anymore freezes/crashes. Works the same as when I first bought it back in 2011.
