A dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other.
184-pin DIMMs are used to provide DDR SDRAM memory for desktop computers. Standard 184-pin DIMMs are available in PC1600 DDR SDRAM, PC2100 DDR SDRAM, PC2700 DDR SDRAM, and PC3200 DDR SDRAM.

The number of black components on a 184-pin DIMM can vary, but it always has 92 pins on the front and 92 pins on the back, for a total of 184. 184-pin DIMMs are approximately 5.25 inches long and 1.25 inches high, though the heights can vary. While 184-pin DIMMs and 168-pin DIMMs are approximately the same size, 184-pin DIMMs have only one notch within the row of pins.

I have had a look in to this and unfortunately I have been unable to find an installation guide for this specific model. I would recommend contacting Acer directly who will be able to provide and installation guide for you.
I checked with the Acer website for an instruction manual but they don't have any listed. I am sure if you contact them directly they would be able to help.

My system runs fine the the original 2GB HP memory but when I put the Crucial stick in
it doesn't POST (can't see anything on the screen at all).
How do I check whether the RAM is not compatible or it's simply a DOA?

I have 2x Crucial DDR4's CT8G4DFD8213 in an Asus X99 Deluxe mother board with a Intel 5820K. System boots fine but only shows 8gb of memory in the POST and in BIOS only shows 8gb in DIMM_D1
I have the other 8gb in DIMM_B1 which is the reconmmend configuration for two DIMM's.
I have tried each DIMM in DIMM_D1 to confirm the memory is OK, which it is.
I also updated the BIOS reversion after my troubles to the latest version 904 though I didn't think it would really do anything as the change logs for the BIOS update seem to address other issues and not memory issues.
So I think this memory is maybe not compatible with the new Asus X99 Deluxe mother boards.
I am sorry for the issues that you are experiencing with your memory modules. I pulled up your system and it appears that these memory modules are compatible with your system. At this point I would test each stick individually to see if it just one defective stick. You may even try running each stick individually in the system to see if the error occurs.
