Experience a faster, cooler, and quieter computer in your home or business. You’ll wonder how you ever put up with a hard drive.

Upgrade with a drive you can count on
With thousands of hours of pre-release validation, dozens of SSD qualification tests, and a heritage of award- winning SSDs, the Crucial MX500 has been thoroughly tried, tested, and proven. Secure your most important files on a drive with established dependability and these advanced features.

    1. Hardware-based encryption: Keep personal files and confidential data restricted from hackers and thieves with AES 256-bit encryption that meets all industry standards, including Microsoft® eDrive, IEEE- 1667, and TCG Opal 2.0.
    2. Integrated Power Loss Immunity: Avoid unintended data loss when the power unexpectedly goes out. This built-in feature of our new NAND protects your data swiftly and efficiently, so if your system suddenly shuts down, you keep all your saved work.
    3. Exclusive Data Defense: Prevent your photos, music, videos, and other files from becoming corrupted and unusable with layers of error correction and adaptive read technology.
    4. Redundant Array of Independent NAND: Protect your data at the component level with an SSD that automatically provides parity protection for your data. This high-end feature works similarly to how RAID is used with multiple hard drives and maintains the integrity of your data, especially for intense users.
    5. Built-in durability: Because SSDs don’t use moving parts that wear out over time (unlike hard drives), your files are less susceptible to a crash. SSDs are better equipped to survive physical trauma, like getting dropped, because they don’t rely on mechanical parts.

    Install with confidence
For many people, opening a computer and transferring data seems terrifying. That’s why we’ve made it easy in the step-by-step Crucial SSD Install Guide. Check it out before you buy, then install your own SSD quickly with everything transferred over successfully and hassle-free.

Micron® quality – a higher level of reliability.

Split-second speeds, lasting reliability, and a decades-long legacy – upgrading with the Crucial MX500 gives you the best combination of quality, performance, and security. It’s worth it.

Comments about Crucial MX500 250GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:

I installed the MX500 250GB SSD into my ASUS Q504U as an HDD replacement about a month ago. Though supplied, the 9.5mm adapter was unneeded. The included Acronis True Image software was simple and flawless. My notebook now wakes up in five seconds, and completely restarts Windows 10 (1803) within twenty seconds. Amazing speed. No more hard disk drive chatter, but I do notice the fan more. As long as it holds up during its warranty, I'm completely satisfied.

great speedup for an old mac mini

    By Matt

    from Mountain View, CA

Comments about Crucial MX500 250GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:

I'm happy that Crucial even linked to the Mac Mini ifixit upgrade instructions! One modification is that I stacked the two conductive pads on the old Mac Mini drive together for the thinner crucial SSD, so that they would make contact between the drive and the Mini chassis.

All in all, everything went without a hitch on my late 2009 mac mini, and it's vastly improved the snappiness of my old computer vs. the HDD. A great price and great performance.

Finally got the SDD into my computer

    By SarahNova

    from Aiken, SC

Comments about Crucial MX500 250GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:

Not that there were any big issues with the MX500, I stripped the stupidly soft torx 4 screws that hold the back of my laptop together. After I finally solved that, putting in the sdd was super easy EXCEPT that my laptop model (Asus Q524 w/ 2TB HDD) didn't have an actual chassis holding in the original HDD, so I just unscrewed 2 screws that who knows what they were actually holding onto inside the laptop, and the SDD fit right in, but the screws weren't the same size. Crucial did not provide a chassis/bracket either, so I just put the spacer under the SDD and plugged it in and closed up the laptop, hoping that the spacer would create enough resistance against the laptop casing so it won't move around. Fingers crossed. Other than that, the computer booted up way faster and all the programs worked, so cloning went well!
