It represents a great showing of the first IMFT 3D NAND, coming in at a fraction of the cost/GB when compared with alternate 3D NAND solutions. Crucial MX200 SSD – Real Deal Award & Innovation Award

"Quite honestly the MX200 series in general and the MX200 1TB in specific is easily one of the best deals to be found in the consumer marketplace right now. This is not all that surprising as Crucial has dominated this corner of the market for years and have been a driving force behind lower and lower price per GB models for just as long a period of time. What is surprising is that thanks to the MX200 series they not only dominate the value end, but also the mainstream end of the marketplace." Read more

The BX100 shares the same excellent finish and solid construction of the MX200, something we have come to expect from Crucial. ATTO recorded as read speed of 559 MB/s, about 4% above the specification provided by Crucial. This drive is their cost-effective solution that is aggressively priced and Crucial hopes it will get solid state drives in the hands of more people. It is great to see a company like Crucial trying to get more solid state drives in the hands of more people and the BX100 is a great step towards that. The budget-friendly BX100 even outperformed (or at least performed on par) with the “non-budget friendly” SSDs I tested before; like the Kingston HyperX Fury SSD, Silicon Power S60, and even the Plextor M6 Pro which was clearly outperformed in terms of sequential read speed." Crucial BX100 SSD – Gold Seal Award

"In today’s SSD of the Week we look back at Crucial’s new entry-level SSD that we reviewed a couple of months ago, the BX100. This SSD was one of the first value oriented SSDs released following CES. Therefore, it set the price point of the entry-level SSDs to be very cheap and has brought about a very competitive market among these SSDs. Furthermore, the BX100 is among the first value SSDs to have capacities up to 1TB allowing a greater consumer base to have access to these storage capabilities…Whether you are a new SSD consumer looking for a cheap basic SSD or just looking for a solid storage SSD, the Crucial BX100 will meet your needs." Crucial MX200 M.2 SSD – Highly Recommended Award

"There is little doubt that this drive is fast. ATTO recorded as read speed of 563 MB/s. This almost exactly matches the specification provided by Crucial. ATTO also recorded as write speed of 509 MB/s. This is getting very close to the limit of what the Intel SATA controller on our test motherboard can do. If you have one of the newer motherboards that accept SATA M.2, the Crucial MX200 500GB M.2 is large enough and fast enough to be used as a primary drive. Crucial 512GB MX100 SSD - CPC Certified Awesome Award

"The mainstream segment is really about price and reliability rather than performance, and Crucial has always done a great job meeting the needs of this segment. That said, Crucial has still done a commendable job optimizing the MX100 for high burst performance and quick recovery, which is generally what you'd see in typical client workloads. As for the difference between the 512GB and 256GB drives, you get better random and sequential writes, which is worth the upgrade for anyone who can afford to go with the 512GB capacity drive…Overall the Crucial MX100 is the hands down one of the best drive on the market for those looking for an entry level SSD. Crucial MX100 SSD - Golden Tachometer Award

"If performance is all you look for from a solid state drive, then you'll certainly find plenty of it in the Crucial MX100 series. Unfortunately, keeping a narrow focus on specification ratings will cause you to miss the bigger picture. Sure, the Crucial MX100 uses native write acceleration instead of compression and is among the fastest SSDs, but it also delivers the industry's least expensive price per gigabyte among solid-state storage devices. Micron has forcefully pushed Crucial SSDs into the limelight by offering ultra-fast SSDs for nearly $0.43/GB, bringing their mainstream 512GB Crucial MX100 down to budget-level pricing. Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 – Best Value Award

"For most users out there, you are looking for a good mix of value and aesthetics as the main reasons to purchase any kit these days. Crucial seems to have hit the nail on the head when it comes to this…What Crucial has done here is delivered on everything that their specifications and marketing put forward. This is a kit for the masses for two very key reasons. The first we addressed, where the kit will look terrific in any system as it does in the image above of our system. The second part of the kit that is handy is that there were no issues along the way with this kit. Whether booting to 2133MHz by default, or opting for the XMP profile, this kit simply springs to life and boots right to desktop and is ready to take on whatever it is you want to dish to it. Of course, having the ability to run a tad faster is a plus, but timings with this kit were definitely the key to extracting every bit of love we could get from the Ballistix Sport DDR4-2400 in testing." Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 – Best Performance Award

"So, let's consider what is good about this design. The black PCBs make nice looking heat spreaders without taking the design too far, the SPD profile is 2400MHz not 2133, the performance out of the box is definitely better than our baseline kit, and we were able to take these sticks to much higher speeds with lower timings. These are just some of the benefits found in the Ballistix Elite DDR4-2666MHZ 16GB kit. On top of that, you could even take these sticks that clock nicely, and remove the top of them to clear a large CPU air cooler, which is something we think all taller kits should offer… Overall, even with higher initial cost, the overall performance of this kit with XMP used is a nice jump from the 2133MHz kit, which is easy to see across all of our testing. Capacity is fine as well, but the looks and potential of the Ballistix Elite DDR4-2666Mhz 16GB kits are really going to bring the boys to the yard with this kit. A hundred dollars more than our last sample or not - we would much rather spend the cash to have this kit in our daily driver over plain green PCBs any day of the week." Read more
