This was used to upgrade my OEM ASUS Essentio Series CM1740. I used the Crucial Scanner (which is both free and extremely reliable) to initially find compatible parts and eventually settled on this Ballistix Tactical Series Kit RAM.

I initially had trouble installing it (I'm kinda new at the computer building thing) and ended up cutting my thumb on the sharp of edges of one of the memory sticks because I was installing it the wrong way initially.

--> For first-time builders/upgraders, here's a protip: remember to line-up the memory stick in accordance to how the slot is shaped because if you try and force the component into the slot without paying attention, you might break your components or injure yourself like I did. <--

I eventually realized my mistake after treating my injury before returning to my work. Everything's been working pretty well with the upgrade though. It's compatible, it runs much faster, and I feel like after coupling it with a new CPU (AMD A8-3870K) and graphics card (EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti), things have been looking better for this desktop overall.

I use this computer as one of my video editing PCs and the parts I selected (including the RAM) were based on matching the capabilities of the components (as much as my motherboard would allow) of my primary PC to keep up with it for video rendering (mostly 1280x720 HD). Overall, I am impressed with the quality of this Kit Memory and I'm happy I made this first-time purchase with Crucial!

The first set of RAM died, crucial replaced it under warranty. The new memory has been running about a week, I hope this batch works OK. I am keeping my old memory chips just in case (this was an upgrade from 8GB to 16GB)

      Comments about Crucial 4GB Ballistix 240-pin DIMM DDR3 PC3-12800:

After failing to find 4GB RAM sticks (8GB total) from a competitor that would work with a P45 chipset, I came across these sticks from Crucial. I should have come here first...
The RAM works perfectly, and is the fastest that I have found at this capacity (4GB/stick). Thank you, Crucial, for making fast RAM that rev's up our older (and new) PCs!

        Comments about Crucial 4GB Ballistix 240-pin DIMM DDR3 PC3-12800:

My computer already ran fairly well, but playing Skyrim with a lot of mods pushed it. I doubled my RAM to 16 Gb and noticed my computer seemed snappier. I put it to the test by installing the high resolution DLC, and my machine barely blinked. I thought I'd need to totally replace the computer to run Skyrim in HD. I don't even have a graphics card - I run an AMD APU, so it's all on the same chip. This upgrade boosted my overall system AND my video memory. Way to go!

            Comments about Crucial 4GB Ballistix 240-pin DIMM DDR3 PC3-12800:

Installed an SSD in my 8GB system. After using "Rapid Mode" which uses some memory as cache, my memory-intensive programs (Photoshop, etc.) maxed out my memory, and performance was greatly affected. Swapped out 4 sticks of 2GB each for this kit, thereby going from 8GB to 16GB. Selector tool was right on as far as the type needed. My 6-yr-old system truly feels like new. Just installed Win-10.

I upgraded my desktop computer from 4gb of RAM to 16, the max the motherboard will accept per the Crucial scanner. The memory arrived fast and was well packaged. Installation was a breeze after watching the video on crucial.com and reading the instructions. I mean really easy. Started computer up and it ran with no issues. Better than that, its performance was noticeably better on the internet broswers, and with multiple documents open. It used to stall while I was working on a document due to running out of memory. With that no longer an issue, it runs faster than ever. Most cost-effective upgrade you can make!
