This drive was installed by Apple as a result of the HD replacement program for late 2009 iMac's, no charge for installation, I just had to stare at a blank desk for a week
Great drive. Paid to have installed. Compatible with late 2009 iMac 27".
I purchased LaCie 6TB Thunderbolt drive but I returned because the drive makes horrible cricking kind of noise. Them I purchased 3TB drive for my iMac Mid 2011. Same here that it keeps making cracking sound all day and night long after a few minutes interval. This is normal to all Seagate drive which drives me crazy. It must be there severe engineering flaw which they are not at situation to recall. I bought western digital green drives and I'm happy. I never gonna buy seagate drive unless they correct the noise factor. Seems like the drive cries for some reason.
The site listed this drive as being compatible with a mac mini. Obvious when it arrived that it's way too big. Oh well, now I need an enclosure.
I apologise in advance, as I am not tech savvy, so my terminology might appear a bit agricultural. I plan to upgrade my Mac Pro to the latest OS available. I am currently running the most recent it will take (Snow Leopard 10.6.8) I understand installing more memory is straight forward enough but, what about upgrading the Hardrive? Is there any great advantage in replacing my existing HD with an SSD. I understand that this process is a bit more involved and requires tools and additional 'bits' to make the new SSD compatible with my Mac. I don't want to get all technical and have the fastest 'this' and the biggest 'that', I would just like to update my machiine and future proof it a bit. Any advice would be appreciated

Have you experienced any issues with the SSDs besides this error? This article can help clarify some of the most common misconceptions about SMART data. I too am considering this upgrade to SSD. This may seem trivial but try control panel, programs and features, windows features and untick internet explorer then reboot. Upon reboot go and retick the box to reinstall that feature. This has worked for me in the past when ie stopped functioning. Good Luck. Please let us know the results.
