Q:is there support for Serial Presence Detect (SPD)
A:Serial Presence Detect (SPD) is a memory hardware feature that makes it possible for the computer to know what memory is present, and what timings to use to access the memory.
Q:does this memory module support serial presence detect (SPD)data structure?
A:Yes, this memory kit will be fully compatible with the Optiplex 740.
Q:can i use this memory type for my Dell Dimension 8250 desktop?
A:No, unfortunately not. Your computer uses RDRAM, also known as Rambus(R) memory, on 184-pin RIMMs. Unfortunately, Crucial does not carry RDRAM. For further information on Rambus(R) RDRAM, please visit our FAQs at http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.aspx?qid=3531
I tried install both of the RAM together on my motherboard (Gateway RS780), but after installing it my PC refuses to boot. The PC powers up, but my screen stays completely blank.

I have 4 slots, 3 are filled with Type 2 ram.
Hi there, I wish to enquire about the compatibility of RAMs for this laptop as I am planning on upgrading it to 16GB due to my power usage.
However, in Singapore, the distributor only sells the RAM here

I am planning to get 2 sticks of these instead of the 16GB KIT (8GB x 2) as my country doesnt seem to sell it

Thank you for contacting us today. Your system actually can use 1600mhz RAM. We have done extensive testing on our end to guarantee compatibility. As long as you are purchasing from the compatibility list you will not have any issues upgrading your RAM.
In some cases manufacturers may not be able to test new memory module speeds after the system has been released, and this may be why you are not seeing this speed listed. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
