Q:Why is this memory not compatible with Dell Dimension E510? What is the difference between this memory (CT25664AA800) and CT1278833? Thanks!
A:That particular memory module is guaranteed to be compatible with the E510; the part number for it is CT1278832.
I am sorry for the issues that you are experiencing with your memory modules. I pulled up your system and it appears that these memory modules are compatible with your system. At this point I would test each stick individually to see if it just one defective stick. You may even try running each stick individually in the system to see if the error occurs. Please contact us directly, using the information in my signature, if you are still experiencing issues.
Thanks for the update. We appreciate the feedback as it might help other customers on our forum. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
my scan shows that my PC has a 1Gb and a 1mb memory modules installed. Also that it has a memory limit of 8192MB. Does this mean I cannot install, for example a 1GB module. Ideally I would install two 2gb modules at least. Any help with my options here would be helpful.
Thank you for contacting us today. It looks like any of these upgrades would be compatible with your system.. Since you aren't planning on overclocking your system I would recommend just going with our Ballistix Sport Memory BLS2C8G3D18ADS3CEU. This kit will be faster than BLS2CP8G3D1609DS1S00CEU, and won't require timing adjustments asour Tactical memory (BLT2CP8G3D1608DT1TX0CEU) does. If you have any other specific questions, please let me know.
