Hi, I have purchased 2 Dell inspiron 3847 PC's each came with 4GB memory, (1 x 4GB card) with a capacity to hold upto 16GB. My plan is to buy 16GB DDR3 (2 x 8GB) and put one 8 GB card into each computer, alongside the current 4GB card. Is this do-able? Thanks, Ann
Thanks for your question.
I have looked in to this system and we are still out of stock of this part at the moment. I have contacted the US team to see when more stock will be available.
If you wanted to buy this memory from another supplier you can use the part number CT2KIT51264BF160B. That is the technical part number and is guaranteed to be compatible with your system. We only recommend that 8GB kit.
If you do have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask and I would be more than happy to help.

Hey I've just bought an old toughbook and want to upgrade the ram. I couldn't find it in the list of models and the system scanner didn't work. What the manual says is that it will take 200 pins, SO-DIMM, 1.8 V, DDR2 SDRAM, PC2-4200. Aside from memory size, will the DDR2 800 Mhz work in the laptop? From what I understand it should be backwards compatible with lower speeds. Please let me know.
