I am sorry for the issues that you have been experiencing with your new RAM. How much RAM is found when you use our System Scanner. This scanner can be found here. If a module is missing (scanner shows empty slot), it's likely an installation issue.If the modules are half detected by the scanner, it could be a density issue. Please check the scanner and let us know and we can see what other troubleshooting we may be able to try.
got a rare bluescreen 0x0000001a "Memory Management".
My Motherboard is a Gigabyte H97 HD3. (Bios F4)
The Crucial Ram is a 8GB-Kit PC3 - 12800 CL9, 1.5v
I tested both sticks (together) with memtest for 12 passes overnight (0 errors),
Does it make sense to test each on its own ?
Are these components incompatible ?
Dell have stated (as does Crucial) that the Dell Dimension 9200 XPS 410 (which are bascially the same) only takes 4 x 1GB modules; a maximum of 4GB)
I have read on many forums that 4 x 2GB wsill work. So I purchesd 4 x 3GB mamory modules from Crucial and they worked pefectly.
Ran my PC all weekend (48hours) with 8GB without a glitch and a good performance increase.
Thank you for contacting us today. I pulled up the specs for your system. It looks like the1mb being read in the second slot is incorrect. I am guessing that it is either a 512MB or another 1GB module. You might open the case and look at the labels on both of the memory modules to be sure.
You are able to upgrade to 8GB of memory. You have slots for memory and can put a single 2GB module in each slot. You can use any of the memory upgrades that you see listed on the right hand side. You may install two 2GB memory modules and go to 4GB. However, keep in mind that if you have a 32 bit operating system you will only utilize around 3 to 3.5GB of memory.
