Crucial Technology Europe, a division of Micron Europe Limited, and one of the world's leading direct memory upgrade providers, has for the second year in a row won PC PRO magazine¿s Online Vendor of the Year award. The awards ceremony, held on the 21 October, recognised major online vendors and technology companies as voted by PC PRO magazine readers. Readers assessed the best providers in 18 categories such as Best PC Award, Best Notebook Award, and Best Online Vendor.
Some 13,000 readers voted in the prestigious 10th Anniversary PC PRO Reliability and Service Awards 2004, making the survey one of the most comprehensive guides to customer support and product reliability in UK and Europe. To draw significant conclusions, the award criteria were stringent. At least 100 of the readers who completed the survey had to have bought the company's product, or used its service, in the last two years. Crucial was nominated along with seven other major e-tailers such as Amazon, Komplett, and Aria. Crucial received the accolade for ease of ordering, product delivery, and after-sales support.
"With nearly 50,000 nominations this year, a staggering 21 different sites met our threshold for winning a nomination for the overall award. Crucial once again received the praise of PC PRO's readers, having become the number-one source of memory upgrades for many people," said Paul Trotter, News and Features Editor for PC PRO magazine. "Buying online can be a frustrating experience, but Crucial has made the whole process simple. Whether for the initial buying process, the product delivery, or the after-sales support, Crucial won plaudits."
"To win this award is a tremendous achievement; to win it two consecutive years stands as a testament to the quality of our staff and commitment to our customers," said Stefanie Summerfield, Crucial General Manager. "I would like to thank all the readers of PC PRO magazine for displaying their confidence in our products and service and all our staff, who are the ones that make Crucial a truly world-class company."
