Best Uses

  • Compatible Laptop

Looks very nice, sturdy, and easy to handle. It came up as "compatible" for my Dell Inspiron 15-3521 so, I purchased it. The laptop worked, and all the heavy apps like MS Office 2010 ran quickly, and flawlessly. The only problem was that this particular module made the screen flicker, to the point of where I had to chase after the buttons and links all over the screen with the cursor in order to click it. I took out 1 card and ran it on 8GB and the screen didn't flicker as much, but it still flickered and made my eyes go funny. I put the original modules back in, and solved the problem... I updated the BIOS and updated the video driver, and so on, but it was the new set of memory causing the flicker. I'm not sure if this particular batch was defective, but, it's safe to assume that these are not compatible with my Dell Inspiron since I tested both of them one at a time. Therefore, I asked for an exchange for the 12800Mhz module which matches the original.
Dell Inspiron 15-3521 has a shared video memory, which I think that's where the problem was.
