The memory upgrade improved the speed of my Dell to where it should be. I had 256 mb memory which had been overloaded, and took 10-15 minutes to start, and got bogged down regularly. Now it operates with the speed of a new computer. I'm very satisfied. Also the instructions on choosing the right memory and installation the Crucial site were great.

needed to upgrade from the 256mb that was factory installed in my old Dell unit. Ordered 2 512mb boards. Easy enough to install [ although a little tougher to push into the slots than I anticipated ].
Everything seems to be working fine, speed has picked up, and I was able to download programs that I couldn't previously.

This was for my dad's Dimension 4550. It was difficult to install because the notches in the memory didn't quite line up with the clips on the mobo. It took some gentle use of force to get the clips to secure the memory into the slot. No big deal. It worked great and my dad really likes the results. It was a wonderful Father's Day gift for him!
