After I installed the kit the laptop had a marked inprovement in speed. All aspects of computing with the Vista configured laptop have improved. The kit was an easy install without any problems. The upgrade from one gig to 4 gig is highly recommended by myself.

Comments about Crucial 4GB kit (2GBx2) Upgrade for a Gateway MX8715. System:

We always buy Crucial memory-we have never had a bad stick. Installation in my Gateway laptop took about 5 minutes. What a difference moving from 1-gig to 4-gig! And the price-my laptop builder wanted $115 per 2-gig stick, Crucial sells 2 2-gig sticks for under $60.00! Can't beat it.

Comments about Crucial 4GB kit (2GBx2) Upgrade for a Gateway MX8715. System:

Most sites say the gateway mx8715 has a 2gig max, but it works with the 4 gigs on it. Keep in mind due to the 32 bit limitation in xp and vista 32 I can only use 3, but it is in dual channel and I can always use a 64 bit OS. BTW I knew of this limit
