Although the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules.

Memory or DRAM is the "working" memory of the computer. It's used to store data for programs (sequences of instructions) on a temporary basis.

        I doubled the amount of RAM in my computer, and now it seems to bogg down more, with little to no significant improvement in performance when it does work well. Disappointing!

          The hardest part was opening the case. The memory went right in. Closed case and started up- no problems at all. It helped with performance, now it doesn't need to go back to the hard drive as often. Wakes up quicker, too.
