Storage Drives -- hard drives and solid state drives -- are the permanent memory for the programs and documents on your computer.

Data Transfer Rate is the rate at which data can be sent or received. This is determined by your motherboard. A drive with a higher transfer rate will only run at the rate of the motherboard's transfer rate.

Cache is a type of working memory that allows the drive to perform faster.

RPM is the rotations per minute of a hard drive which effects the speed of data transfer.

Solid State Drives are non-moving memory, so access speed is instant.

I was running an older model MACBOOK PRO with 2GB memory and needed to upgrade to SnowLeopard, at least. After I upgraded the OS the thing ran so slow. It waited a while after every command (reminded me of 'dial up').
I went to Crucial.com and looked up on their chart. While MAC says I can only upgrade to 4GB, Crucial says I can upgrade, safely, to 8GB... so I did.
I'm 65 and not a big techy brain so I used the video Crucial.com had posted re: Installation. Worked like a charm. So easy.
While I was in there I was brave enough to open each of my fan modules and vacuum out the years of dust that had accumulated. Yuck!
The computer now runs more quickly, efficiently and much cooler.

Seems my processor can't handle ram

Seems this ram is to much for my processor as the fan is constantly running since I installed it.

I have always been an advocate of memory upgrades when ever you can. Software keeps getting more and more demanding and you have to keep pace with memory. I use nothing but Crucial memory.

Was worried that the 2mb to 8mb upgrade on my MacBook Pro wouldn't work since the recommended max is 4mb. But I bought them, put them in, it started right up and has been working great. Good product, good price, good service.

I ordered a flash drive, which then became corrupted while still under warrantee. The company quickly replaced the defective product with a brand new one. As a student, I don't have a lot of extra money to shell out, so thank you very much for standing behind your warrantee and product!!

Fantastic RAM, and fantastic service. I have a late '08 MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion), and upgraded from 2gb to 8gb.

We ran into an issue with delivery from the shipping carrier. Crucial was on point and reshipped the product immediately. I got it installed easily into my Macbook Pro, and it's made a world of difference in performance. No issues whatsoever.
