I noticed our car club's laptop struggled to open Adobe Acrobat documents, so I began to investigate the performance specs of our little Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop. Wow - not only was it hobbled with a Celeron processor, but it only had 256MB of RAM supporting Win XP. I went onto Crucial, plugged in my info, and Crucial reported it could only hold 512MB tops. That was going to be better than what it had, so I placed the order. Well worth the [$] investment. Love Crucial due to the no-brainer help in finding memory. I've ordered probably a dozen times and have never had an issue. Love 'em!

Revive an old work horse.

The increase in speed and performance was small but noticeable. I was hoping for more.

Comments about Crucial 256MB Upgrade for a Dell Inspiron 1000 Series System:

This is an old laptop computer that had not been used much due to its limited performance Celeron processeor and only 256k RAM. Adding another 256k helped speed things up but still too slow for modern applications or web. It does chug along but if you have the Inspiron 1000 laptop, give it to charity.

An upgrade to a slug of an obsolete laptop. Took it from unworkably small memory to just adequate memory. But that's all I expected.

This memory saved an old laptop from becoming scrap. Hard to find old memory and usually very expensive. Crucial came through by having it and it was inexpensive too.
Delivered on time. Easy to install. Works great.

This memory module saved this laptop from the dumpster. It took forever to boot up and was swapping to disk all the time. The laptop was pretty much unusable until the crucial upgrade was installed. Now the system has its maximum of 512 MB and runs XP home just fine

The memory upgrade I purchased from crucial.com was exactly what my older computer needed. I can now browse the internet, upload photos and download applications without being told my memory is too low. Before I installed the memory upgrade it would take several minutes to open the internet now its much quicker and more reliable.

Comments about Crucial 256MB Upgrade for a Dell Inspiron 1000 Series System:

A friend of mine recently passed away and in a discussion with his son I discovered his dad had promised to build him a Laptop for school. I contacted my children and they sent me all their old laptops and printers. After sorting through everything and ending up with one good Laptop I discovered it was really slow and needed more memory. I had not purchased memory for quite some time so I started searching on the internet. That is when I discovered Crucial. Great site, led me to the right parts easily, priced right, [...] installed easily and best of all it boosted performance significantly. I would definitely recommend Crucial.
