OVER A YEAR AGO I ACQUIRED DIRECTLY FROM DELL A 256MB MODULE TO UPGRADE THE MEMORY IN MY DELL INSPIRON 7500. IT NEVER WORKED; I WAS SENT A REPLACEMENT WHICH DID NOT WORK ALSO. I SPENT HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH DELL SUPPORT. THEY EVEN HAD ME REINSTALL WINDOWS WHICH WAS A DISASTER AS IT PUT ME BACK TO THE BASIC INSTALLATION WITHOUT THE LATEST UPGRADES. I DECIDED TO GIVE CRUCIAL A CHANCE AND ORDERED ONE 256MB MODULE. I INSERTED IT IN MY LAPTOP AND IT TOOK EFFECT IMMEDIATELY -- NO PROBLEMS, NO HASSLES. IT WORKS SO GREAT THAT I ORDERED A 2ND 256MB MODULE. THAT ONE WORKS GREAT TOO. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. PERHAPS YOU CAN GIVE DELL MEMORY LESSONS.

I bought two memory sticks for my Dell 7500 and installed them. Shortly afterward I sarted having problems with my computer in that it would not startup. I took it to a computer repair shop and they told me one of my sticks was bad. They replaced the bad stick and the computer started working normally. I still have the bill and would appreciate Crucial reinbursing me for this expense. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Comments about Crucial 256MB Upgrade for a Dell Inspiron 7500 Series System:

First, I ordered another brand of memory from another online retailer for my old Dell Inspiron 7500. I tried everything (reinserting the memory, switching memory banks, multiple reboots, etc.), but couldn't get my laptop working with the non-Crucial memory. Then, I checked the comments page for the non-Crucial memory and noticed that some other purchasers were having similar problems. Next, I went online, read Crucial's guarantee of compatibility, and decided it was worth a try. I ordered directly from crucial.com. My memory arrived ontime and packed carefully. I installed it, and it worked fine immediately! It succeeded where the other brand had failed even though the other brand supposedly had the same specifications. Crucial memory might cost a little more than "Brand X," but it's well worth the extra money to avoid aggravation. I'm a happy Crucial memory customer.

Comments about Crucial 256MB Upgrade for a Dell Inspiron 7500 Series System:

An older laptop required more memory to be useful again. Video clips were choppy and delayed. The machine was very slow and now it has a new life. I was not able to purchase the correct memory locally and was pleased that Crucial was able to analyze and provide just what I needed.

Make sure you don't have static charges built up on your hands, little wet wiping should do it.

I thought my spare Dell laptop (Inspiron 7500) was simply too old for today's software. Very sluggish, long to boot up. Adding this memory gave it a new life. Works like a charm.

Excellent Memory! Easy to install! The Dell Inspiron 7500 notebook recognized the two 256MB memory modules ( 512MB Total ) without any difficulty! I went from 256MB ( two 128MB modules ) to 512MB ( two 256MB modules ) and my Inspiron 7500 boots and runs programs much faster now!
