Following Crucial's suggestion to max out the memory, my old Compaq desktop w/ Windows XP has new life. It is now as fast as my newer computers (Acer and Dell. Looks like it's a keeper. I'll be referring my friends to you for upgrades.

Comments about Crucial 2GB kit (1GBx2) Upgrade for a HP - Compaq Presario SR1550NX System:

Why did I wait so long without upgrading the memory from the single 512MB? My computer runs almost like the day I bought it 7yrs ago. The memory sticks were easy to order, even easier to install, and the price can not be beat. The sticks have breathed new life into my computer and if you need this kind of memory, I couldn't give a stronger recommendation!

Comments about Crucial 2GB kit (1GBx2) Upgrade for a HP - Compaq Presario SR1550NX System:

Website was easy to use. Their software to scan computer and determine the memory I needed was great. No shipping charge because of using the software. Installation video was helpful since I know little about computers. Shipping was fast. Installation was easy. Did not increase speed, but I think that has more to do with my computer than with the memory. Does keep my computer from locking up when using multiple applications. I've not had to wait for it to increase virtual memory. It didn't improve the gaming, but that is because my computer shares RAM and only allows a small amount of video RAM. I didn't know this until recently so I need to fix that. No problems so far. It has only been a couple of weeks.
