I purchased this memory for my wife's Dell laptop, which had all but stopped working.

It arived in a couple of days, and it was very easy to install (watch video). The difference was REMARKABLE! The laptop runs better than it did when it was new. It's only been a couple of weeks, but so far so good.

I'm a hard sell and don't write reviews very often, but I did this time in case you, like me, are considering this but are skeptical. It was worth the gamble/money.

    Issue with speed...

Capacity was right when installed in an Inspiron 6000, but the item description said it was 800Mhz speed, but I'm only getting 400Mhz, even after a bios update.

Worried about hurting the chip. Should be an
          easier way to remove.

We have an old laptop running XP (very slowly) with only 512 MB RAM. This kit gave it 2 GB. Now it boots and operates much faster.
