Memory:

DDR2 PC2-5300

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 2GB
Slots: 2

Although the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules.

How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about OS memory maximums can be found here.

Memory or DRAM is the "working" memory of the computer. It's used to store data for programs (sequences of instructions) on a temporary basis.

After a bit of difficulty getting the order together, everything else went very well. The order arrived quickly, and the RAM sticks were not difficult to install.

Most importantly, the improvement in speed and performance was noticeable straight away: no waiting ages for the computer to boot or shut down, and hardly any more of those nasty "virtual memory too low" warnings. Pictures downloaded way faster.

The compatibility check and guarantee were what sold me. After reading too much conflicting info -- some of which would have resulted in performance short of my machine's capability had I followed it -- it was great to confirm getting the best my machine can accommodate.

Installed an worked great but I only notice a small increase in speed in my laptop. Tech support was great to help with installing the one under the keyboard.

I thought an increase in RAM from 500 to 1.5 might speed up my Dell Latitude D610. It helped a little, but it wasn't the miracle cure I had hoped for. My drive definitely runs a lot less. It was worth the money. For [$] you might as well take a shot.I ran Crucial's memory tool to make sure I was getting the right memory. The order and delivery process was easy and smooth. I shopped around, and the price with shipping was very competitive. The RAM slot on the back of my laptop was empty, so it was an easy install. If you need to drop it in the slot in front there is a video on youtube that makes it look fairly easy.
