Storage Drives -- hard drives and solid state drives -- are the permanent memory for the programs and documents on your computer.

Data Transfer Rate is the rate at which data can be sent or received. This is determined by your motherboard. A drive with a higher transfer rate will only run at the rate of the motherboard's transfer rate.

Cache is a type of working memory that allows the drive to perform faster.

RPM is the rotations per minute of a hard drive which effects the speed of data transfer.

Solid State Drives are non-moving memory, so access speed is instant.

I upgraded my MacBook Pro 2.66GHz intel core 2 duo from 4GB to 8GB with this kit. Installation required a precise phillips head screwdriver and the removal of a half-dozen screws.
Bottom line is that performance did not appreciably improve on my computer. I do a lot of importing of raw video into iMovie and exporting video via iMovie and these import/export times did not improve noticeably.
For the price, it was worth the expenditure but I was so hoping for more.

Was very easy to install (I've never done this before) and I just had to follow the Youtube video to do it. It took me less than 10 minutes, and the RAM was successfully recognized by my computer with considerable change in speed.
