I can say to those who wonder, it's working for me. I now have 4 times my Dell factory memory. It was Ok for a while but today, it was either more memory for [$] or a new computer. No Einstein Question here. I used the download tool. Took just a few minutes. Being a tight wad I then shopped a little more and saw there was no better deal and, then ordered. [...] followed the easy instructions that are on the Wed site to install. Wholah faster and no more memory use of the hard drive. One thing to be aware of is, print the installation instructions prior to shutting down the old computer. It will give you that warm fuzzy feeling. I had never been inside my laptop before. My installation took about 6 minutes and super easy. You may need a small Phillips screw driver available at any hardware [...] for about $2 bucks. If you want to confirm the deal you are getting ask how much they want for the same memory. I compared the price of memory at Big Box electronics stores in my area and they had the right stuff but twice the price. I'm very happy. Why don't you expand Crucial. This was good. Thanks for honesty and integrity.

I bought this product from Crucial on the recommendation of a friend. Upon installation (which was simple) my wife and I noticed a respectable improvement in our laptop's computing speed. Within 60 days, however, our computer would no longer boot up. After troubleshooting and replacing the Crucial RAM with the original RAM we were again able to use our computer. After unsuccessfully attempting to follow-up for replacement by Crucial, we just gave up. We never had the opportunity to speak with a customer service agent and the return process was too convoluted to deal with. We weren't willing to pay extra to replace the defective RAM we were sold and, after about another month, threw the modules in the trash.

Comments about Crucial 1GB Upgrade for a Dell Inspiron 6000 System:

It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Crucial (and strictly an electronic dealing). They offered a software tool that told me what RAM I had and what I needed in the way of an upgrade. Purchasing couldn't have been easier and even the free delivery was timely. And best of all, my computer performance has been enhanced tremendously. I no longer need to reboot daily even with Word and Excel always active behind my multiple internet applications.

I bought memory from Crucial to upgrade my 5 year old laptop computer. Doubled the memory for [$]. A good price for extending the useful life of the computer for several more months. Crucial's website made it easy to select the right memory component. It was delivered promptly, was packaged adequately, and works fine.
