Comments about Crucial 1GB Upgrade for a HP - Compaq Pavilion a1010n System:

Some PC manufacturers still design their systems with specifications that require almost unusual functionality from computer hardware. The most glaring of these (that I'm aware of) are HP & Dell.

I intially ordered memory (not Crucial) for an ugrade of my girlfriend's HP a1010n computer from a very reputable computer/electronics retailer whose website had a memory configurator. The price was right, unfortunately, the module would not allow Windows to even start up. So I had to return that one and I ordered from Crucial, knowing from previous experience that Crucial can successfully match the correct module the PC manufactures requirements. Had to pay a few dolllars more for sure, but you know the old saying about that.

I got lazy and let Crucical program tell me what I needed for my PC. I wanted to go 2 GB. Crucical program told me to buy 1 GB. I already had 2- 512MB memory. End result is that now 1.5 GB memory.
