DDR2 PC2-5300

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (ECC)
Maximum Memory: 32GB

How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about OS memory maximums can be found here.

Storage:

SATA

Storage Drives -- hard drives and solid state drives -- are the permanent memory for the programs and documents on your computer.

Data Transfer Rate is the rate at which data can be sent or received. This is determined by your motherboard. A drive with a higher transfer rate will only run at the rate of the motherboard's transfer rate.

Cache is a type of working memory that allows the drive to perform faster.

RPM is the rotations per minute of a hard drive which effects the speed of data transfer.

Solid State Drives are non-moving memory, so access speed is instant.

Graphics Card:

Dual PCI Express x16 Graphics

External Connector: 15-hole connector

Graphics Card A circuit board fitted to a computer containing the necessary video memory and other electronics to provide a bitmap display. Adaptors vary in the resolution (number of pixels) and number of colours they can display, and in the refresh rate they support. These parameters are also limited by the monitor to which the adaptor is connected.

Comments about Crucial 4GB kit (2GBx2) Upgrade for a Dell Precision WorkStation T5400 System:

My Dell T5400 came with 8G and while a very nice machine, the memory was not sufficient to run more than 3 VMs under VMware's ESXi 3.5.After overcoming my fear of cracking open the box and deciding to add another 8G, I found exactly what I needed at Crucial. I had no problem finding *exactly* the right memory for my machine.[...] The installation videos on crucial.com helped me overcome my fear of trashing the machine and after dealing with the short cables and somewhat cramped interior of the T5400, was able to install the memory without any problems. My T5400 is like a new machine with the 16G total and can reliably run 7 VMs under heavy load.I would recommend this upgrade and Crucial to anyone.

System flies with 9 gigs of ram in it. Ram came fast, installed easily. No problems at all. Have ordered multiple times from Crucial in the past - always a great experience!
