Storage Drives -- hard drives and solid state drives -- are the permanent memory for the programs and documents on your computer.

Data Transfer Rate is the rate at which data can be sent or received. This is determined by your motherboard. A drive with a higher transfer rate will only run at the rate of the motherboard's transfer rate.

Cache is a type of working memory that allows the drive to perform faster.

RPM is the rotations per minute of a hard drive which effects the speed of data transfer.

Solid State Drives are non-moving memory, so access speed is instant.

Perfect!

Pros

  • Easy To Install
  • Large Capacity

Cons

    Best Uses

The stock hard drive in the laptop was 160gb and was easily taken up by photos, and the OS updates. The 1TB drive is large enough that none of that really matters.

It was super easy to swap the stock drive out. Took no more than 10 minutes. Have to have your OS on a disk that you can boot from to do the install, and after that it's good to go. Crucial is the only place I'll go to when dealing with hard drives or memory.

      Best Uses

I ordered a new 1Tb hard drive for my laptop. Crucial sent me a tracking number with my order confirmation. The HD arrived very quickly and was in great packaging to protect the product. I'll probably order from Crucial again.
