Worked as described. I can't honestly say if there was an increase in speed or not as it was installed in a very new build that I hadn't spent a lot of time with before adding the new memory. However, the machine is humming along very nicely.

I added the memory (2 Gb) to my system which only had 1 Gb. Its seems to have help my system a little bit. Thanks.

This definately increases performance, but is not fully realized unless you have a 64 bit operating system. Having a 32 bit OS, my system was only able to recognize 3 gigs. despite having installed 4.[...] Their system scanner made my memory decision extremely simple and error free. The prices are also very good. I would recomend this site to everyone.

I have removed this memory form my machine and returned to my single gig I had before. After installing this memory within a day my computer was giving me the "Blue Screen" stating it was dumping the Physical memory or it would simply cause my computer to restart without warning. I will be contacting Crucial for a refund or replacement with another product. I am having no issues now that it is removed.

Item worked perfectly!!! I followed the exact instructions of the review below this one for my Home Dell Dimension 8400; Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz and it worked even better than expected. My computer recognized the upgrade to 4096 MG (4 GB) from 1024 MG (1 GB) immediately although my system is a 32-bit and can only see 3.3GB's of it.

Upgrading to 4096 MG (4 GB) from 1024 MG (1 GB) really helped my PC to run smoothly. Multiple applications and Windows that are opened at the same time are no problems with this upgrade. After you install the new RAM, your CPU does take time to adjust and learn. I would advise to put a load on the new memory (disk clean up, defrag, full virus scan, etc....) so it can adjust. Not at the same time but you know what I mean. After that, let it fly. Easy to install was a plus.

Setup: Home Dell Dimension 8400; Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz (3.2 GHz); BIOS A09 version 07-07-2006; Windows XP Pro, OS version 5.1.2600; OS Service Pack 3; Network Card: Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller (if you wanted to know); ISP - DSL; Processor Speed 3.2 GHz. Okay......CPU came with 1024 MB (1 Ghz) but upgraded to 4000 MB (4GHz....4 slots with 1 MB per slot) - total memory 4096 MB. Install was quick and easy. After installing the new RAM and a cold start booting of the CPU, OS asked if new memory is installed. Just say yes or continue. It does take a few minutes for the CPU to adjust or learn (5 to 10 minutes) to the new RAM and display. I would recommend after 10 - 15 minutes to put a load on the new RAM (Defrag, Disk Clean up, full scan for virus, etc.) so the OS will accept it and adjust. Overall very pleased and would recommend upgrading the RAM. Thank you Crucial.com for your online download scan and recommendations to attack this problem. Upgrading to more RAM speed helps me to perform to the max. Able to open multiple windows while streaming music/video is always a plus. No cons here from what I see. 2GB kit (1GBx2), Ballistix 240-pin DIMM was a great investment.

I edit video for a local access TV Station, using Avid Liquid Edition 7.2. Although the software specs say that 1 gigabyte of memory is adequate, I increased my output by at least 50% by going to faster and more ram. I now am able to have several graphics programs (audio editing, keying, and Explorer for example) open on the desktop at the same time, and still not have problems with rendering my video. Four gigs are definately better than one.

I've own this memory for over a year. I wanted to wait to write this review just to see how it would adapt to the new drivers to hardware and software. It's still very fast, my computer loads up very quickly. But...the downfall of the ballistix and mfg computers: They will only work up to a certain frequency. Mine only registered 533mhz not the full 800MHZ.
Here's what I have at home:
Dell 8400
P4 3.2ghz HT
2Gb Ballistix
256mb GeForce 8600 GTS

I don't think that it is as fast as advertised. Even going from 512mb to 4Gb, I don't seem to have noticed a great difference in processing speed.
