This combination of the 790i Ultra and the Ballistix memory delivers solid, reliable, performance out of the box. Having said that users need to do research about what they are buying. Normally memory is installed in pairs in the the 0 2 and 1 3 slots. It is recommended to only run 2GB of memory in the 1 3 slots or you will not obtain speeds close to the 2000mhz advertised. This is using the latest revision of the BIOS as recommended by XFX.
In short you can run 8gb of memory - or you can run 2gb of memory at 2000mhz but not both. So do your research on what choice you're going to make.
