Bought this a year ago. It sounded better than the other major brand I was also considering, based on what I read, and has performed just fine. Runs at -it's- stock latency of 4-4-4-12 no problem on a Gigabyte board with the then-new X38 north-bridge. Didn't get around to overclocking--too busy. And, it's got that unique orange coloring! Love the name, too :)

I purchased this ram around 6 months ago for a new build. This ram worked perfectly right from the start. I currently have this ram overclocked to 1066MHz using 1.8v and it is very stable with no ram coolers.

It seems to be that the quality of the Ballistix line is questionable. My third set just died on me, and I have to send them back. With the 2.2volt models, the failure rates seemed very high, but I am not entirely sure about the new 2.0volt line. The reason I am giving three stars is because of Crucial's support and warranty, kudos on that.

Bought a "dual channel kit" thru a re-seller but got frequent BSOD since day one. Changed PSU, HDD, mobo firmware... when tested RAM with memtest it gave me some errors in whatever slot I used. Funny thing, when tested each stick individually, they were just fine. I swapped my ballistixs with another pair from [...] from the PC at work, and my rig has been rock solid since then. Yeah, my PC at work has been rock solid as well. Maybe my A770M-A mobo didn't like the ballistix for whatever reason. I couldn't make my PC to run to 4-4-4-12. It always defaulted to 5-5-5-18, which I am still happy with anyway. [...]

Crucial has brought along a new revised set of DDR2-800 RAM. Before you need a decent motherboard that can pump some volts into the original set of RAM. Now it runs at 2.0 volts which brings lower temps and a bit more overclockability (if that is a word). This RAM is purely amazing beats my OCZ Gold and OCZ Crossfire.

This kit really boost my PC, A pretty good upgrade from mes 2x512 OCZ kit.
I ran those bar at 1000 Mhz, 5-5-5-15 2T for about 2 mounts and they have been fast and reliable as hell! at 2.1v
But... I know, there is always a but... One of the DIMM died a fews days ago... So I just send these for RMA and got a new kit within 14 days!
