I often run several pieces of software at a time. Sometimes word processing applications delayed when typing. I wanted everything to work as I worked. Upgrading my memory to 4 gig did the trick.
The best part was Crucial's downloadable system scan. I felt sure I would get the memory I needed since Apple had replaced a faulty PowerBook with a new MBP right before a model change. I wanted to feel secure about the product.

Quickly added double my computing power for half the price of what Apple would've charged me for the same thing. Recommended if you're going to be using Logic Studio like me. Projects now load twice as fast. Nice :)

Tip: Just put your old ram in the package for safe keeping in case you have to bring your computer in for repairs. All you gotta do is swap them back out again and your warranty won't be voided.

Regrettably, I'd tried upgrading the memory of this Mac Book Pro with another product which was available locally. It turned out that either of the 2GB modules would work as long as one of the original 1GB modules was installed. However, when both were installed for the desired 4GB, the computer wouldn't boot up. Installing the Crucial memory was a snap, and the computer booted normally. Reliability to date has been great.

It's okay RAM. I purchased it for gaming in particular The Sims 3 but should have done a little more research on gaming RAM I suppose. I believe this RAM to be reliable though. Crucial has a pretty good reputation for making great products. I should have dug a little deeper.

Easy to install and increased the longevity of my current macbook pro (or at least delayed my next macbook pro purchase for a bit). Having the full 4GB has made a noticable difference in speed for boot up, app starting and overall performance and at a much cheaper price than buying a new laptop.

The modules were really easy to install. You could see the increased performance from the moment you installed and re-started the Laptop.

I emulate Windows with Fusion and the 2 GB version on my MAC caused my machine to hang and slow down. Now it works like a charm.

Turning my Macbook PRO into a 4GB was well worth the cost.

Just make sure you buy the screwdriver to insure an easy install.

I use my computer primarily for photo and school work. Immediately after the install, I noticed that my computer was faster. It was most noticeable when running more than one program.

Note, the install is really easy, but make sure you have the modules pushed ALL the way into the slots. If not, your computer will make a warning sound.

The memory is exactly as advertised... all of the stats check out on my computer as the website claimed. I had 2gb of RAM and the 4gb is really noticeable while playing games on Windows, running AutoCad and other programs on Windows and even while running Mac OS. As usual, Crucial delievers. Cheapest Mac RAM I found anywhere (even cheaper than [@] )as I was looking to upgrade my MacBook Pro from 2GB DDR2 PC2-5300 to 4 GB. I'm a hard core home and business user and always use Crucial for my gaming and work rigs. I bought this to help me out in After Effects. It did to a certain degree but it still wasn't enough for me to render our my project. That's not the rams fault though, my macbook pro can only take a maximum of 4 gigs and for me to render out the project I need a workstation. I did notice a huge increase in performance all around and found this buy to be completely worth it.

I was excited to find that the price of the memory was so cheap for a 4GB kit. Crucial delivered on time, and I have had no issues with the memory install. For those of you who do not know why Apple's memory is so expensive. An Apple store tech told me it is because if you buy Apple's memory for the MacBook Pro the memory is then covered under warranty. Other memory is not covered by the Mac's warranty. Fortunately installing other memory doesn't void the warranty.
FYI if you have a Mac that is a model that begins with MBP, it requires special memory. Crucial's memory worked flawlessly. I recommend saving yourself some time by ordering from Crucial.

I have been happy with this product. However, they caused me a little heartache because in the invoioce that was emailed to me, as well as mailed with the product, it said it was for a macbook pro. I don't know enough about computers to know that it was still the right one for my computer. Lucky for me, I have a brother-in-law that is a computer programmer for his profession, so he convinced me it would be alright. And it was. It was just confusing because it didn't say anything about it being compatible with both computers on the website when I bought it. I thought they had screwed it up, but they didn't. Just confused me.

I was very surprised at this product. I thought my iMac upgrade was going to be an expensive one.

I ran several applications at once, along w/ my AV and burning a CD. I noticed no lag time what so ever and was very very impressed with the performance of the RAM.

While the performance in a jump from 2gb to 4gb is not as much as the jump from 1 to 2, I definately notice a difference in the performance of my pro applications like photoshop and aperture. Great product and great reliability.

I run VM Ware Fusion to run Vista on my PowerBook Pro. Going from 2G to 4 G of RAM created almost seamless interface toggling between the two Op Sys. 6G would be better, but not available.

I went mac earlier this year with my work machine. Running XP in a VM in one of my spaces. Putting this extra RAM in was relatively cheap and has helped make windows not only more quick, but seemingly a little more stable as well (since I could jack up the memory allocation.)

I use the RAM to give me an increase in speed when I work with photos with Photoshop and everyday work.

I also got it to work on the PC side with my Star Trek game that was very slow. So far it has added speed to my MacBook Pro. Although it can only take 3GB the 4GB kit seems to be reliable and fast. i have gotten spoiled by the speed and now think the machine is slow!

It was so easy to install and I gave my 2 GB boards to my son who has a MacBook. His machine only had 1 GB so his really does load in half the time.

I really haven't done a quantitative experiment to test my new memory's speed but the buying experience and installation were flawless. Crucial has an excellent website and makes purchasing and installing new memory a breeze. I upgraded my MacBook Pro from 2GB to 4GB of RAM. My order shipped faster than promised and the RAM was very easy to install. I use my MacBook for illustration with Adobe's Photoshop and Illustrator applications and Manga Studio. I decided to upgrade my RAM after I noticed excessive lag when drawing in large raster files. The new RAM reduced the lag but did not eliminate it. What it did do was make switching between applications faster and it eliminated the occasional hiccup/spinning beach ball that I experienced when running several applications at once. I can't say that the product is reliable or unreliable, but that's only because I haven't used it long enough to notice any problems, if they're going to happen at all. My past experience with Crucial products, though, has been very good. (I've never purchased a bad stick of RAM from Crucial). I can't say that I wouldn't recommend this to a friend, but I wouldn't NOT recommend it either. I think that the performance issues that I am having may have more to do with the rest of my hardware and the poor programming of Manga Studio than my RAM.

Wow... That is all I can say about Crucial memory. It runs perfectly, I had high expectations for this memory and it did not fail to deliver. Far better than I could have ever expected.

I have a 2.5GHz 15" MacBook Pro and I upgraded to 4GB of memory. I do a lot of rendering and video editing. I am yet to find anything I can't run or any number of applications that maxes out the memory.

This chip was very difficult to install. Not Crucial's fault. The MBP is just very difficult to upgrade. It felt like it didn't fit, but patience payed off. And it was totally worth it! I now am able to run three instances of Windows Server 2003 and one instance of XP Pro on top of Leopard with no problems!! I even have RAM left over!

I went from 2 to $ GB on my macbook pro, I like working on several desktops at the same time, compiling latex, programs... it really improved the smoothness of everything.
The only think I would mention is that the crucial scanner found a 2.4 Ghz as my CPU and I have a 2.6 but it's not a big deal at all...

The memory is excellent and definitely speeded up the Macbook Pro as I tend to open up a lot of applications. I did not believe that Entourage used up so much memory. On 2GB I would quit it to save some when working with other stuff missing important mail. Now it sits quietly in the background.

The Price is right for the RAM and it was an easy buy.

The crucial memory finder tool is excellent and found the right RAM for me, no need to search which one is best. Even at a Beta level the tool seemed robust and took me to the shop page immediately.

I had a tough time figuring out that the RAM module was not properly installed and the slots seem extremely lightweight on the MAC. You feel as though pushing too hard would either break the RAM's Pins or the slot holders. Apple has a weird installation process, perhaps to keep the MAC thin.

When I purchased my MBP I was very pleased to find out how easy it was to upgrade the memory. With the upgrade to 4GB my MBP is much more powerful then a comparable Vista machine. I use my computer for typical communications and collaboration applications and am very happy with the performance. The biggest benefit for me personally is the ability to run multiple virtual machines to do my development and demonstrations. Crucial made the entire process easy I would recommend them to anyone.

Macs love memory and run better with lots of it. Installed the memory with no problems and no problems with OS compatibility. Apple wants you to buy their memory at X2 the price to guarantee performance. (what business doesn't) However, Crucial Memory SODIMMs work just fine. Thanks!

The instructions and installation were a breeze! I didn't really get a chance to compare speeds before and after the memory upgrade, but I can only assume the 4GB runs faster than the 2GB (duh!). Crucial has great prices, [...], and they are reliable. I was recommended to this site by a friend, so I know I'm not the only one.aloha.

after being told that there would be instructions for the Mac Book Pro there were none!!!!! Had to call Apple for help.

Very good. My notebok is a Mac, and I was a little concern regarding compatibility. I want to increase the memory because I have a pc virtual machine on my mac. I run both mac and virtual pc at the same time with no problem. Easy to install, and very good price compare with machine's manufacturer.

I use my Mac Book for Photoshop work. I normally work with quite large files and often several being open at the same time. The new memory was a very welcome addition.
