Being a complete IT novice, I ordered this, (with a large degree of trepidation), on the recommendation of a friend. Other than struggling to find the opening on my PC, (which I can't blame Crucial for), it was such a simple task to install.

The memory modules were great and the installation instructions made it hassle free. This was even when one the modules was not recognised first time. Would recommend this product wholeheartedly. It was required to improve speed of operation and to be able to use multiple apps. My expectations have been execeeded.

Added 2Gb to the 512Mb already in the machine. Its performance when browsing with multiple windows open is vastly improved in terms of page loading and moving between windows.The memory checking program on Crucial's site takes all the hassle out of deciding which memory type you need. [...]. Doddle to install and no reliability problems. All this said I'm working from a pretty (s)low benchmark.

After upgrading my new laptop with fantastic results, I decided to see if the same could be done with my 5 year old Dell desktop. I upgraded one of the two memory slots from 128mb to 1GB to see if it would work, and it's now preforming much better! I can now use applications (i.e Sibelius) that previously gave me lots of hassle with delayed reaction without any problem whatsoever. I now have no need to upgrade my desktop and can contiue using it for several more years! The memory upgrade [...] was easy to install (although a bit scary as the pressure needed to push the card into the slot was a lot more than anticipated), even if I had never upgraded a desktop before.
