I ordered this memory for my father's older iMac: he couldn't upgrade to Leopard because of insufficient memory.

He didn't have any trouble installing the memory himself, and the subsequent installation of Leopard proceeded without a hitch.

He hasn't noticed any overall speed improvement, but being able to use Leopard is reward enough.

I need help from my Apple buddies to understand all this megga-jigga-wigga, RAM this RAM that. But, Crucial Mac made it easy. The scanner app. was quite wonderful. Explained it's scan of your Mac with simple diagrams. This what you have, this is what you could have, this is what we recommend and this (awesome) is what is the limit of an DRAM upgrade. No "tech jargon". I went with the Max and will never have a Mac without the maximum DRAM again. I installed it myself, was way too gentle pushing the chip into the slots. When I booted, up, only 1GB showed. I went back and used the Crucial Mac scanner to confirm. Opened up my iMac again and this time pushed them both in correctly. Thank you Crucial Mac.
