Wished I had examined the motherboard first and found that there were only two modules (containing existing RAM) rather than slots for an extra two modules. I had to remove the original two modules (256kB each) and replace with the 2*1GB modules. I should have bought 2*2GB (the maximum supported by my computer)

Memory install was a simple exercise although print off any instructions, if possible, prior to power down and opening up your PC, its amazing how blank your mind goes even for the simplest task!
Take the opportunity also to hoover out the dust that has accumulated over the years from inside your PC.
Double check all obvious connections for sound connections prior to power up then sit back and enjoy the enhanced performance.
