My laptop was painfully slow, especially on the internet. I use it at least once or twice an week and felt that I would use it more if it was faster. I had the RAM installed and now it is much nicer to use & the children now use it for games, which they refused to do before as it was too slow!

Sony only provide one memory slot, everyone else finds room for two ! so I needed a 2 gig memory chip for the wifes Christmas present. I've used Crucial for almost a 1000 years and never had cause to complain about [...], price or quality.When building or up-grading a system, I always use crucial memory and it's the only make I recommend.In the words of Top Gear presenters:- how hard can it be and I do the job right and if you use any other make, quite frankly, your idiots.....

Dell only Recommend 1 GB moduls for Inspiron 9400-E1705 but 2 GB moldule works. The BIOS screen hangs for 4-5 Minutes and then re-configures with the ne 2 GB DIMMs. Subsequent re-boots report 4 GBs(asuuming 2X2 GB DIMMS are installed)

The memory required is always difficult to calculate (especially when there is so much choice) so I made use of the Crucial online scanning software to show me the compatability of their memory and my laptop. Having done this I was sure of getting the right product to upgrade an older low spec machine.

This memory has replaced a 256MB memory so the difference to the speed, and to the quality, of screen refresh is phenominal.

One of the RAM slots on my 2GHz Core Duo iMac (4,1) died. These machines have a 2GB RAM limit , and all the info (including from Crucial pre-sales) suggested that this stick would NOT be recognised in the single remaining slot, each slot being 1GB max. Hence it's not listed as an option by the Advisor, I found it by searching the tech specs. Figuring I could always get a RMA, I took the plunge and ordered it. It works great, fully recognised as 2GB. As this dead-slot issue is not uncommon, and 10.6 doesn't run well with only 1GB RAM, others might be helped by this info. However, I'm pretty sure that if both slots are working, you CANNOT use two of these to get up to 4GB...because then you'd be over the total limit.

scanned the laptop with system scanner said 4 gig would fit but on arrival it would not take the 4 gig so had to put one 2 gig in on its own to boot, which is better than the 512 mb that was in. pity the scanner was not more accurate. Wasted the money, Now got 2 gig in drawer waiting for my next machine.

Bought these to juice up my Mac Mini's ability to run and operate Photoshop CS4, not to mention streaming players on a large flatscreen. Prior to this, I only had 1GB in situ and things were running sluggishly, if at all!

Now it goes like lubricated lightning! There isn't anything that I am using on it at the moment that it cannot deal with.

I am mighty impressed and was happy with the cost too.

Took a couple of attempts to install in my MacBook Pro 2.16GHz (I didn't push it far enough in first time), but works perfectly once installed.

Significant improvement to overall performance (upgraded 1GB to 3GB). I mostly have 0 pageouts to VM now, with multiple apps open. Before my HD was constantly thrashing. Much improved performance using Parallels, Mac apps no longer grind to a halt when Windows apps are busy.

I mainly use computer for usual surfing and e-mails, plus manipulation and filing of photos and movie clips. I also watch TV via Zattoo. Extra memory contributes to easier and faster use. Great value for money. I bought this 2gb chip to add to the 1gb that came with my laptop. It really helped increase the boot time and general performance.

Upgrading a Mac Mini is not for the feint of heart. It was also indicated that the Intel Core Duo (2 GHz) might not accept an upgrade to 4 Gb. My experience is that it does and gives that extra boost to Parallels for Windows XP, VISTA, 2003 Server, and even Windows 7 Beta in this environment.

Crucial is the only company from whom I buy memory. There turnaround is fast so one can achieve the results one hopes for quickly.

I've have been a long time Crucial user upgrading laptops and PCs with them for many years it's so simple and fuss free. use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool finds what you want 99% of the time.

I've also bought flash memory for mp3 players and for cameras in the past the prices have always been good and always fast to deliver them.

I replaced a 1gig Crucial module (existing 2 x 1gig modules fitted )in my Gateway ML3108B laptop with this thinking that an overall increase of 1 gig would make an appreciable difference in speed, unfortunately I have detected no increase. In fact the system may even be a bit slower overall. I may remove and store.

Well as always the Laptop was fully populated with memory but it was still not enough. I mamaged to squeeze in 4GB and what the OS could not use the video did.

Had a few questions, whether or not the Laptop would take all 4GB but I emailed and recieved a prompt response that said it would.

I took the plunge and all works fine. Was lightning fast, but alas Vista still makes it seem slow.

Would recommend for anyone with Vista and a Laptop that can distribute the memory between OS and Video.

[...]It was very easy to install into my ASUS EEE PC Laptop (701/4G), as all it needed was to shutdown the laptop, remove the AC & Battery supplies, use a small crosshead screwdriver to remove the upgrade access port underneath the laptop and then switch over the RAM chips.I'm seeing a significant improvement in performance, as I use this laptop for technical projects that I'm working - would recommend it to other ASUS EEE PC Laptop users to give your computer systems a performance boost.

good quality product,[well made],used in a notebook mainly multimedia and office apps. memory sticks slotted in with no great effort[down to quality of manufacture] has made a big difference to vista home premium,all positves cant find anything bad to say about crucial all pcs i have had in the past have used it with no problems at all.

This was a shot in the dark, as no one to my knowledge had tried this memory upgrade on the Asus R2H!

Alledgedly the more recent R2H versions have a memory limit of 1.2gb, (756mb on earlier versions) I'm pleased to tell you it's not true!

I dropped this 2gb in, fired up and bingo, Vista spotted it and displayed 2gb without me pushing anything except the start button!

In fact it displays 2.25gb, as in addition to the standard 1gb on ram there is also 256mb on the motherboard.

Whether the older versions of the R2H running XP would deal with it similarly I do not know.

A highly recommended upgrade and at such low cost you cannot afford not to do it!

Crucial do not supply any compatible memory for eeepc 1000h, and this stick recommended for the 900 does not work in the 1000h. Avoid.
