I had high expectations after reading other reviews of this product, perhaps too high.

It was harder to install than I anticipated because the slots were located underneath wire bundles which I did not want to disturb. So, it was difficult to forcefully push down the modular components and not pull on the wires.

Once installed, it was helpful in preventing my graphics-heavy programs from crashing, but the speed of my computer was not hugely increased. Still, for it's inexpensive cost and the increase in reliability, I am happy with the product.

I have 4 DELL units. Crucial does memory does NOT work with DELL computers. I did NOT know about the 30 day return. I'm stuck with 4 Crucial memory chips.

my computer was extremely slow. being a novice, i had no clue as to the problem. crucial's memory scan revealed that i had about 250MB of memory, not even enough to run my Norton antivirus program efficiently. i ordered 3GB and installed them myself. now, it's like i'm working at NORAD! my computer is running like a dream! i couldn't be more satisfied.

By ordering from Crucial I had the security of knowing that I would get the correct memory modules the first time. Because they checked my computer memory before suggesting the part number for my computer. I compared what they found already installed with what my manual showed and they were right. That gave me the confidence that what I was ordering was the right part number.

Had I ordered from another vendor, I might have ordered the wrong part number, since I wasn't sure.

I had no diffuclty installing the memory and it worked right from the start--and has been working fine since. I didn't gain any speed because I left some of my old memory in place; otherwise I would have gained some speed.

I am very pleased with my whole experience with Crucial.

i have had parity memory error off an on for over one year. i called technical service (maker of my computer) and was told to erase partitions and after doing so, my desktop crashed. i took the cpu to a repair shop because the recovery disks did not work. i was told the system may work for a couple months and that i should not have erased partitions.a year later i was referred to crucial by my brother. very little cash (compared to repair shops) and 4 minutes of installation have solved the problem that plagued my computer. i could not be happier with the product, assistance while ordering, [...]and ease of use. i replaced/upgraded the ram and have not had a parity memory error since. i will tell everyone i know about crucial.

The process was pretty easy and the computer seems to run faster. I basically run Firefox/IE/Quicken/Outlook. Not resource hogs, but I installed Norton 360 and i think it really bogged down my system. I added 2GB of RAM and I notice a big improvement.
