I keep coming back to Crucial because their memory selector tool always shows me the exact memory that fits my computer. When you're not a computer expert that knows the exact RAM config for each and every Mac built since the Apple II, the "find your computer" selectors are necessary.

Surprisingly, some of these can be dodgy or suspicious when they show different RAM with prices all over the map, or no way to decide which is best. But, with Crucial I know I'm buying it right from the source and they've got me covered if there is a problem. The fact it's usually the least expensive is a bonus!

Works just like I hoped. Improved performance of my iMac after I installed Photoshop CS5 when I had only 1GB of memory. 4GB makes things hmmmmmmm. Installation was a snap; 10 minutes and I had 4GB.

iMac came with 1 GB but after 3yrs of adding many photos and playing games. I was getting a lot of pin wheels or hour glass if your a PC user. Added the 4 GB kit and problem is now gone. Easy installation.

I use my 2.4 GHz 20' iMac to write MSc papers and to mess around with iPhoto. Ugrading from 1 Gb to 4 Gb of RAM has slightly increased the speed of my machine but has made adjusting the numerous figures and tables in large documents much smoother. The upgrade requires 1 x cross-head screwdriver and about 3 mins of time.

The increased capacity to run multiple desktop applications is also extremely useful when searching the internet for references, tabulating the results, editing any photos and creating diagrams without having to worry about the computer 'freezing'. All-in-all a very worthwhile purchase and highly recommended.

Got the 4gb kit to make CS5 premiere and AE to render faster so my Mac wouldnt drag along. I have definitely seen an increase in speed and performance. Want faster switching between apps and have multiple apps running at the same time? Then get Crucial Memory upgrades. The website has a scan tool to find your specific memory type. My iMac was easy to upgrade to the maximum 4GB memory, took me all of 4 minutes. I saw exactly how to do it with an online video( you know where to look!) If you are afraid because you think Apple makes their own memory, well they don't. The memory stick I removed was tacky and cheap-looking with several made in Korea stamps.
Crucial has a good reputation when I started asking around. They are slightly more expensive but you're paying for a quality memory stick. I'm happy!

I use the iMac in the living room to do video editing for work, and also do some for the family. The computer works great with Final Cut. I noticed that there was a bump in the performance. It is also nice to keep iTunes and iMovie open as I can quickly look for the different clips or music to put together.

The RAM modules are great. I always buy from Crucial and have never been disappointed.

I did learn a lesson, however. Don't just install the RAMs and assume it's going to work right. Run a memory test.

After I installed the DIMMs, I went online playing a game. In the middle of the game, the machine froze and STARTED to paint that gray screen you get when the MacOS kernel panics, then it froze in the middle of THAT. I pulled one RAM, and it wouldn't boot, so I put it back and pulled the other, and it worked. Then I tried swapping slots, and it worked. Then I ran a memory test, and it passed after running for a few hours.

Here's my best guess as to what went wrong: The machine came with memory installed in only one slot. It may be that dust got onto the contacts in the other slot, or the contacts suffered a bit of oxidization. Either way, one DIMM didn't make proper electrical contact. Removing and reinserting cleared the obstruction or cleaned the contact, and it's worked flawlessly ever since.

For my Imac 3G 2007 model I kept thinking and ordering the 800MHz instead of the 667MHz. Even with Crucial I made the mistake but by calling them I got the solution while with a couple of other parties they just said to return the product and thought there was something wrong with my computer or install.

I am by no means a computer expert. However, I have to say that the upgrade in memory on my iMac has been astounding to me. I went from the factory installed 1g memory to the Crucial 4g upgrade, and it's made an amazing difference for me. No more slow iTunes, no more beach ball when running several programs and switching between them ... very easy to install. It literally took me 10 minutes and I was taking my time.

I ordered the wrong speed chips at first (be sure to check this when ordering.) Crucial took the chips back (for a full refund) and sent me the right ones. I just installed them (took 15 minutes) and it works great! One recommendation: buy or use a grounding wrist strap when installing these chips in your computer. You can probably get away without one, but why take the risk?

The product itself is great, and Windows on VMware Fusion seems to be running faster. The ordering process was still a little confusing in terms of chip specs e.g. 800MHz vs. 667MHz. Not only does the upgrade allow us to play additional games and run multiple applications, it was SUPER-EASY to install. I actually went online and found a youtube video of this young kid who gave a 6-minute demonstration on how to install this exact memory upgrade. I can't believe that I could actually do it, but even a novice like me was able to install in a matter of minutes. Glad I made the investment. It was worth it!

Buying from Crucial for years. May not be the highest specs on the market but great value. What a huge difference on my iMac going from 2GB to 4GB. After a couple of weeks in constant use, the Crucial DIMMs are stable and have had no problems. Doubling the RAM seems to have improved overall performance on my iMac. It also allows me to use Garageband, which previously often quit with an "out of memory" error message.

I expected by quadrupling the RAM memory I would see a greater degree of performance from the Mac's dual core processor setup. Since all talk about a matched pair turning on both processors and speeding things up, I've yet to see the real results of that. It didn't happen on my PC either so I think that the operating systems on these computers is just too large to work efficiently.

The hardest part of the upgrade was getting out the RAM cover once it was un-screwed from the bottom of the iMac as I'd never opened up an iMac before and was unsure how much space was in there to use the small needle nosed pliers I had to grab the grate on the cover.

After that, the old RAM just unplugged and the new modules slide right in with out any problems.

With 4GB of RAM (the max for this model) it won't be paging out any time soon...

Increasing RAM to 4GB in an iMac is the easiest way to improve the system's performance and its ability to run simultaneous applications. Doesn't hurt its performance in running multiple users, either.

I didn't notice any huge jumps in speed because the computer was pretty fast to begin with, but Pro Tools runs a lot smoother now. I thought this might open up the gates for multi processor support in Pro Tools 8 and it didn't.

I use my mac as a casual "home base" desktop. The upgrade from 2 to 4 gb RAM made a significant improvement in running multiple programs, etc. Also- the price and short delivery time were both GREAT!

I upgraded my 2.4GHz 20" IMac from 1 GB RAM to 4GB RAM with a 2 x 2GB upgrade kit.

The price was good. However, one of the 2 modules I received did not work. I kept the working module (temporarily giving me 3GB RAM) while mailing back the non-functional module. They shipped a replacement before having received my return.

I'm planning on buying from Crucial again whenever I have memory purchases to make.

Makes running Winblows on a MAC not so sucky. It also helped allot running iMovie. And at 1/4 of the price from Apple. Easy to install.

I had to return a defective chip to another vendor. After that, someone recommended Crucial, who sent me twice the memory for half the price. Also, it worked.

I purchased the 4 gig memory upgrade to improve video editing speed. There has been a dramatic speed increase in daily use as well as with Final Cut Express. I look forward to editing my home videos with this speed burst.
