Recently added heavy application and was becoming frustrated with the time it took to perform operations, and the use of multiple programs. The added memory certainly improved the speed. I've noticed no negative characteristics in performance. Ordering correct item, instructions, and installation went exceptionally smooth, no surprises.
After the online evaluation, Crucial told me the amount of memory I had planned to purchase was unnecessary as my computer was incapable of using it all. Gotta like a company that is honest.

Just the ticket. My issue was the never ending spinning beach ball. Oh so annoying indeed. Had to force quit and just plain power off many times. Have cleaned out cache, bought a Mac cleaning program, and sheer frustration led me to Crucial. Found out about it on Google. Beach ball of death rarely is an issue now.....wonder what else I could do for even better performance? I can't afford a new Macbook Pro yet; mine is a early/mid year 2007 and I love it so I really can't complain--I am very pleased with this upgrade for such a reasonable price.

Easy to order, fast shipment time, easy to install. No install instructions are included, but simply Google instructions--this is the tutorial I followed: [@]The most important things you have to remember are to ground yourself (get rid of static which can cause damage!) and to PUSH REALLY HARD when plugging in the RAM. I had read that you need to push hard beyond belief to have the RAM accurately set, but I didn't realize that I needed to push harder than making deep welts in my thumbs! Push like you're almost going to snap the chip. Don't bang it.When my RAM wasn't properly installed, my computer would not boot up--the little LED indicator light in the front clasp of my Macbook Pro would blink about once per second really brightly. I tried taking out the new RAM and my old RAM, and it still didn't boot up. Finally, I inserted both RAMs (new and old), gently jiggled them side to side while pushing them in more, then pushed REALLY HARD again and again, and finally it worked. Once I snapped them down into place I also tried gently pushing more. It's a pain to not have it correctly installed on the first try or second try because you have to keep taking out the batt and unscrewing those tiny screws.Finally, after about 7 re-dos, it worked! Things run great.Hopefully you'll do a better job than I did and it will install accurately the first time around. Good luck, and enjoy!

I bought this to go in my macbook pro 2.16 Ghz core 2 duo machine. I had 2 GB of RAM installed via two 1GB modules. I'm limited to upgrade to 3GB. The memory configurator on crucial pointed me to the 2-1GB package, which would have done me no good and cost slightly more. I used the chat feature to speak with support. They ran the search and suggested the same thing as the configurator. After some back and forth, the support person figured it out and said to use the single 2GB module to get to 3GB. [...] Installation was easy once I located my jeweler's philips screwdriver. Seems to be reliable and I think I can notice better multitasking.

I can't say that I have noticed any substantial increase in the speed of my computer since installing the 2 gigabyte of memory. (My overall memory only increased by 1 gig since I already had 2 X 1 gigs of memory in my computer previously) But this has nothing to do with it being a Crucial product. I haven't had any problems with the product so I am pleased with purchase.

It had 1 Gb of RAM.When Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) came out I installed it and everything was fine.Then, Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) came along and after installing it, everything freeze and crashed. Snow Leopard specifications said it needed at least 1 Gb of RAM, but that was clearly not working.I bought a 2 Gb RAM module from Crucial to total 3Gb on my machine and now it screams. Everything works a lot faster, it starts up in less that 35 seconds and it turns of in less than 10 (most times, less than 5). I can work with Office, then switch to Logic, and then view Flash videos on Safari and everything is perfect.Definitely, those were the [$] better spent on my MacBook Pro.

The initial module sent by Crucial was faulty and worked only partially. The computer will not boot from the CD drive and from the external hard drive. Moreover, it will crash when I switch back to the internal drive. I tried for several hours to make it work. Finally I took my computer to Apple Genius bar and they confirmed that the memory was faulty. I sent it back to Crucial and they promptly replaced it with a new module. The new module worked with no problems.

I kept my existing module and added a new one. The first three times I tried to install the new module my computer wouldn't boot. After taking out the existing module, I realized I wasn't using enough force to seat the new module. I put the new module in with more force and then it clicked in. Then I put in the old module. My computer booted fine and recognized that it had the new memory. The hardest part, really, was dealing with the computer's itty bitty screws.

Installed this on my MacBook Pro 2.16ghz that can max at 3GB of RAM, and the speed improvement was noticeable from the moment I turned it on. RAM is one of those things you don't want to have to obsess about. You want it to work transparently, all the time, so you can worry about the other things that demand your attention.

I bought this RAM for my Intel MacBook Pro. It installed in seconds, OSX recognized it immediately, Logic and Mainstage now have plenty of RAM headroom and speed, no more hiccups and hesitation, and I can worry about mixolydian mode, altered dominant and all the other things I really want to spend my time on.

Bottom line? This RAM from Crucial installed painlessly, worked perfectly the first time, has never failed, and I don't have to think about it. Is there a better compliment for RAM?
