I bought a simple memory upgrade. The boards went in as instructions said they would. I more than doubled my memory for a reasonable price. All is working well.

One problem was that the info on the invoice was somewhat misleading. All three boards were interchangeable even though they had different numbers. There was no information telling me this. Due to incorrect information I had ordered one more board than I needed. Ready to send it back I was puzzled that the invoice numbers didn't match the board I had. The invoice seemed to say I had perhaps put the wrong board in one computer. I called support and the person was very helpful, telling me all three boards were really the same. I would have liked to know this before I started to worry about what I may have done.

My 2008 MacBook has been sluggish and I've been waiting for the price of memory to drop. It did and I ordered from Crucial because several Mac Podcasters recommended this site. Their tool to find the right memory was extremely helpful. So was the video on how to install the memory. Following their video, it wasn't hard to take the old memory out and put the new memory in. However, I didn't seat one of the memory sticks properly and the first time I started the computer with the new memory Activity Monitor showed only 2MB instead of 4MB. I opened her up again and reseated the memory. Since then it has been working fine and I have noticed that after opening and using many programs, my MacBook isn't sluggish anymore.

I have a black macbook that was running on 2gigs of memory which i use primarily for photo editing. I cant begin to explain what kind of bottleneck 2gigs presents when your running lightroom and photoshop and passing files between the two.

Let just say if time is money these memory sticks pay for themselves. For operations that used to take a whole minute to complete, they're basically done as soon as i finish clicking.

Easy install, at least for my configuration in a macbook, less than 5 minutes from powering it down to install to completing and starting it back up again.

This is my second purchase from crucial, and I'm sure it wont be my last. I typically dont like spending money on intangible items, but this is a difference you can see.

I upgraded from 2 GB of ram to this product (2X2GB). Great investment! I run multiple programs at once on my laptop, and I used to see the loading bar a lot. It was slightly distressing to unscrew the bezel inside my battery compartment, and I actually went to apple store to make sure I had put everything back together correctly. The genius bar associate said the bezels never go back as snug as when the macbooks ship from factory but that as long as battery fits in and memory shows up its all been done correctly.

I was not experiencing major delays with multiple apps, but the "color wheel" icon rarely pops up after this upgrade.

Great product. [...] easy to install. I did not notice any noticeable increase in the startup speed of my computer but where i did I notice improvement was when i was using multiple programs. Originally my computer had 2GB of RAM and experienced slowdown when I would use garageband or imovie one at a time. But now I am able to run garageband, imovie, iphoto, idvd, and safari all at the same time with no slowdown. Overall Great product and worth the [$].Also buy the mini screwdriver if you don't already have one because the screws to access the RAM are really small.

Easy to install. You'd seriously have to be an idiot not to get around this. The memory configurator guides you through the appropriate product for your system & voila!! I just referred myself to a YouTube tutorial to see how to install it, but it's not rocket science people. I honestly think an 8 year old could do it.

I purchased this product for my girlfriend's macbook with an upgrade from 2gb to 4gb. She immediately noticed a difference in speed and the ability to multi-task between applications. I had also upgraded my my iMac about six months ago with wonderful results. Crucial is reliable and effective. The price is reasonable, as well. You get what you pay for, and I would never want to buy cheap ram for an expensive and heavily used computer.

Macbooks themselves are easy to install new memory, but the best part about Crucial is the website interface to choose the proper memory. Being able to pick your computer model makes choosing RAM easy without having to remember all that stuff like mhz and ddr and whatnot. Also, it is a lot cheaper than memory you find in stores and other places.

PS: Installation is not trivial, but you have Apple to blame, not Crucial…

I got this duo pack for my MacBook to support CS4 extended that I just got. It took 5 minutes to install. Opening speed has increased for all the software, documents, apps.. that I already had and after installing CS4 I am able to open bridge, cs4, illustrator.. all at once and really fast, no crashing during saving, no slowing.. a dream!. I have been using it extensively for the past week I had it. can't beat the performance/value.

Overall almost the same performance in the host environment. However, guest VMs has improved their response time. Host: Macbook, Guest: Windows XP.

The memory itself is great - however I had an issue with a separate part of my order and tried to contact customer service at least a dozen times. I only got through to someone once who told me they didn't know how to fix my problem (wanted to add something to my order) and to call back and talk to someone else another time. whether it was the online chat or on the phone, it took a minimum of 45 minutes to an hour to get through to someone - at all times of the day!
I was dissapointed with the customer service - but the product itself is great. I have also purchased a hard drive in the past and it still works great to this day.

I haven't had any performance problems. They were a little harder to install than my previous laptop, but that may be due to the design of the new system. They just needed a little extra force to get them in the slots.
