It was very easy to install this RAM. My iMac, bought in 2006, was fast becoming obsolete and I needed to do this in order to be able to run the newer 10.6.3 OS. I don't notice any increase in speed, although the upgrade quadrupled my RAM, but at least I can keep up with new Mac developments and prolong the life of my machine. Hats off the the store manager at the San Francisco flagship store for recommending this affordable course of action.

If you have a small screwdriver, this will be one of the fastest upgrades you've done. I'd also recommend a flashlight to look in the RAM bay to make sure you're lining up the memory correctly.

Got two of these for my wife's iMac to speed things up a bit. Since it maxes out at 1GB per slot, I purchase two and easily installed them.

We recently purchased AppleTV. All our movies and music are located on an external hard drive and we stream it in HD wirelessly to our HDTV. So far, there's been no lag time even when one person is working on the iMac and anther is using the TV.

So yeah, I like the performance of these guys.

I had difficulty installing this memory upgrade on my early 2006 intel iMac. However, it was not the fault of Crucial. The installation instructions on Crucial's website did not cover my iMac. So, I followed the instructions that came with my computer. I had a lot of trouble , and my computer did not recognize the upgrade. I then tried to remove the memory module to start over again; however, it would not come out. My husband and I almost ruined it trying to get it out. I then went to Apple's website, which gave me different instructions than the manual and was finally able to position the module correctly. However, it is in so tight that I don't think I will ever be able to remove it if if want to add more memory and move it to another slot. After the installation, I called Crucial Tech support with a couple questions, and the tech support was very polite and helpful. I had added a memory module upgrade from Crucial to another computer many years ago and didn't have ay problem; I remember how helpful their customer service was back then also. I blame the problems with this installation on Apple providing me with the incorrect installation instructions. I would definitely purchase my memory upgrade from Crucial again.

I will definitely buy future memory upgrades from Crucial. Installing these modules in an iMac at first the iMac didn't recognize the new memory sticks. I found that they were not fully inserted. I had to apply some moderate force to get them fully inserted and recognized by my iMac. But once that was done, the new memory is working great...increased speed and performance.

After installing 2x of the 1 gig ram upgrade, the imac performance is faster at retrieving data. But once in a while the screen would go black for 1/2 a second and return to normal. It wasn't like before the install, but with the increase in speed its worth it.

My 8 year old Mac had slowed to a crawl. Got my RAM from crucial in just a couple of days, installed in under 5 minutes, and saw an immediate improvement in overall speed and performance. There is even a speed increase when I'm online. I've been recommending Crucial to everyone!

There were no real installation directions included, but it would be impossible for printed directions for every possible computer configuration! Crucial web site had links to videos of how to install, and they were very clear.

After using a utility to check memory use in my 2007 iMac, I noticed a lot of page faults building. This was also visible on the machine by many occurrences of the swirling rainbow ball (Apple's way of showing the computer is busy). I upgraded my iMac from 1GB of memory to 2GB of memory. The # of page faults have been dramatically reduced, from over 200k page faults in a week to about 300 page faults. Efficiency has been improved tremendously.

Having multiple apps open was slowing down the computer.My more-savvy mac friend (i'm pc at work) checked some utility and saw that 512 was not cutting it. So I took the plunge and bought what they suggested (the crucial download analyzer thingy).I runs a lot faster now. It is not lightning instaneous, but much better. For [$] well-worth it.If you have to remove a stuck chip/stick gently coax it out with a screwdriver from the side--do not grip with tweezers on top and bottom--work the left then work the right, etc.I had to switch the top and bottom (who knows why!!) but I finally got it to work.

I looked around quite a bit to see what RAM options were out there for my iMac. My iMac is a few years old, so I had to be careful about compatibility issues. The system analyzer tool was really helpful--it gave me complete confidence that the Crucial RAM I was looking at would be compatible with my iMac. I installed it without any problems, and I immediately noticed better performance. Of course, going from 512MB to 2GB was quite an upgrade, but I couldn't pass up Crucial's great prices.

I've got an imac, and pretty much the only thing you can upgrade is the RAM, so when I noticed latency problems in a game I was playing, I said "Oh no! I hope it's not a video card problem!" Looking at my RAM I realized I only had 512 MB, so I purchased 2GB from Cruical.com. It increased the performance in my game by more than four times, and I think not only was it MORE RAM, but it was FASTER RAM too! Now I'm not just running the game on my machine, I'm running two windows of the game at the same time flawlessly. Thanks Crucial!
