This was great for me. I use the internet primarily for searches and for email. I have 3 children and not a lot of time to spend, or especially to waste, having to wait on a slow computer. The diagnostic component at Crucial was fast and told me exactly what my computer currently had and what it was capable of receiving. The best part was being given several options of solutions for my specific needs. I liked the performance-increase rating that showed me exactly what to expect with each solution. A friend found this old machine and got it for a few bucks. The base memory made this machine to took forever and 2 days just to boot. He was about to turn it into e-trash. I recommended to reinstall the system and try a memory upgrade. Since the reinstall did almost nothing, I maxed the memory (because it was way cheaper to do it). Now he is happy since the machine boots in a few minutes and his browsing experience improved. The only complain is that the battery is running low quite fast (its an old battery, might be the cause) and there is a bit of overheating (but, then again, is an old Compaq: they always overheat), otherwise is a nice alternative to add more e-trash to the world.

My notebook slowed considerably with the addition of new applications and firewall. Had only 250MB of RAM. The addition of 512 MB of Crucial memory
produced a dramatic improvement in performance. I
am now delighted to use this computer. Also very impressed with Crucial's online analytics to determine the right memory addition.

I neded more power for photo processing and bought memory to speed up my work only the memory didn't work. So I emailed the helpfull tech's at Crucial and they fixed me up with memory that works the first time. Don't mess with someone else, get it here and get things going fast.
