Upgrading from 1Gb to 2Gb, so no major change in performance, but high-end graphics and large databases do seem to work that bit smoother and faster.

I was thinking of replacing my laptop and spending around [£]. I thought I give the old one a last chance and risk a few quid on new memory; less than [£ later I'd quadrupled the memory and it is like a new laptop, only I get to keep the money. It doesn't get better than that!

Works well - the only problem is the holder on the DELL for the memory module - it isn't as flexible as you might hope and I did manage to crack one of the arms when I put one of the modules in - it was only a minor crack and hasn't stopped the device working fine. It is just a silly system I suppose.
