The memory was exactly right for my computer. I installed it per the Crucial video with no problems. My computer's speed is at least twice as fast now.The Crucial scan for suggesting memory said I could put in 2 chips but when I opened the laptop, it would only take the one. I was still able to double my memory with the 1GB chip they sent.

I am pleased that I spent the money to upgrade my memory. I am not a pc hardware person, but my dell computer had a door marked (M) on the back and that's where the memory installed. Instructions would have been handy re: any precautions (static) and tips (pull apart tabs, clips and memory snaps in at an angle). Thank goodness for my intuition and common sense.

My Dell inspiron laptop was rather slow due to many web design and other programs. The 256 Mb RAM I had didn't cut it and I increased the RAM to 1GB. Computer repair shop quoted me $100 for RAM and $45 to install.[...] steered me to Crucial and said once I bought RAM they would install it for $39.95. I purchased the 1 Gb for almost [$] and just opened small area in back of laptop, removed 256 Mb and slid in and installed 1 Gb RAM. Voila! Didn't need anything but Crucial and the whole job cost me under [$].

This 1GB Memory was purchased for my Dell Inspiron 2200. The primary purpose was to increase memory and ultimately computer speed. Item [...]was easy to install by removing the cover on the bottom of the laptop. Upon initial reboot, the computer immediately detected the additional memory and updated the memory stats on the computer. Unfortunately, the computer started failing to boot about every 3rd time the computer is turned on. I have to remove the memory and reinstall. The computer then will boot properly about 80% of the time. If the computer fails to boot, I have to repeat the removal and reinstallation of the memory card. This gets very frustrating. If the memory card is removed completely, the computer works fine without booting problems. Obviously, the memory card is causing this error. I'm now contacting Crucial to discuss replacing this newly purchased product.

super easy install and big gains. i was looking for some more memory to really boost up the sort of stuck in the mud feeling of my computer. this upgrade did a total 180 to my laptop. its flying now and i couldnt be happier
