I built this computer six years ago and it is still going strong! I use it for storing music, video, personal documents, email, gaming, skyping, etc. When skyping overseas (audio & video), what was once slow and choppy is now smooth and seamless. Also, editing pictures taken with a 12MP camera is noticably faster than previously. I can also multitask without a noticable slowdown in processing speed. The price & availability vs compeditors made the sale for me. In return I received flawless performance from the #1 manufacturer in memory chips!

Before I installed the module you sent me, I was getting messages that RAM was short, and my computer was expanding RAM accordingly. In addition, startup took 15 minutes after I powered up. Programs took forever to load. Now, I have installed the module you sent. I am most impressed by the speed. It takes two minutes to start up, and most of my programs take only seconds to load.

I use my desktop for internet research, downloading, uploading, word processing, spreadsheets and pdfs mostly. Usually these programs and functions are running simultaneously. The RAM my computer came with (512MB) couldn't handle that number of tasks, with the background programs as well. Upgrading to 2GB of this RAM made a huge difference and now I can work much more efficiently and quickly.

I purchased two 1GB, 184-pin DIMM, DDR PC2700 modules. I had no difficulty installing them. I rebooted the computer and found I now had 2.62gb of memory and my processor speed was no longer 200 MHZ but 1833 MHZ. I have increased performance and I have had no problems.

Instructions to identify what I needed were easy enough to follow. Received the memory in less than a week. I moved the old memory card from slot 1 to slot 2, inserted the new memory card in slot 1, booted up and voila! Old computer now runs again. It's like having a new computer for[$]. After my first experience with RAM, I used the Crucial computer scan service on their site. I trusted that scan and added one gigabyte in my desktop tower, Once I saw the great result, I ordered one gigabyte for my laptop. Both units had only 512mb before installations (that took less than five minutes.) The unit's performances were remarkable with the added RAM. Crucial was the only website that had a program to enable me to find memory compatible with our 15-yr-old PC. The increase from 0.2 Gig to 2 Gig of memory was fantastic; the computer was finally able to run at a decent speed and not hang up! The memory was fully compatible,as promised, and easy to install. I am delighted with the results - and this prevented my having to buy a new desktop! I am running Windows XP service pack 3, and the addition of a wireless modem caused our system to hang up due to too little memory. I was initially worried that the memory wouldn't be compatible with our old motherboard, but it works perfectly. The computer is, obviously, way faster than it has ever been.

I was told by some so called computer geeks/experts that installing more memory would not help the speed of my computer because it was to old. With the online help from Crucial I was able to find an upgrade for my computer. I went from 512mb to 1g. No problem installing it or any compatibility issues. The speed of my computer probably increases 50%. Couldn't be happier with the results from Crucial.

I am the secretary for our local Elks lodge and purchased memory cards for my office computer and for my home. I really appreciate how easy it was. The Crucial site analizes what you need and which will fit your mother board and slots. Then the ordering was simple for both computers. Installation took about 2 minutes.. Pull out the old card and insert the new ones. Of course the 2G of RAM really increased the speed.

Ok, I had their scanner check out my existing memory and suggest compatible upgrades. Ordered, crossed my fingers and all is well. This memory upgrade saved me from having to purchase a new PC. Glad to have the upgrade and awesomely fast performance. Easily installed by a friend of mine who showed up as soon as I got the cover off my tower and said "let me do it". I probably could have done it myself once I cleared all the dust bunnies out. I did return one piece of memory since there was not slot for it as shown on the scan. No worries, I got good return instructions via email and am just waiting for a credit to my account. Overall, VERY HAPPY.

I used the RAM to increase overall system performance. It worked perfectly[...]I just plugged in the RAM and started my computer and computer came on perfectly with no issues. Unlike some other RAM I tried prior bought at a local major electronics retailer. Where I had to go back to several times because out of the pair of RAM sticks I had bought one kept on being defective. Crucial's RAM increased the speed and performance of my system and took less than 5 minutes to install and test. I will be buying some more Crucial RAM for another computer of mine and also trying to get for my computer at my job.

My PC would take 20 mintues to power up in the morning and simple downloads would take an unbearable amount of time. A friend suggested I visit the crucial.com site for a quick evaluation. I did and the report said I had only 512 MB of memory but I have room for 2 GB. I ordered the RAM [...] I installed it in about 15 minutes and bingo my PC boots up in about 2 minutes and screens change in a flash along with downloads too.

PC wouldn't boot with new memory installed. Tried both new sticks, then one stick in either slot, then one new stick with the existing stick, no boot. Put old memory back in, and the PC booted. Used the memory suggested by the website. I have not been able to do a BIOS update. Perhaps the new memory will then work.

My computer has not become any faster, It takes a few seconds longer to load then it did before this upgrade. I didn't bother opening up my tower to see whether I had a free memory slot, and the Crucial system scanner must have assumed I had a third slot. I had to remove one of my 256MB cards to make room for this one. Well worth it, but not what the scanner said I'd end up with.

Product works well as expected. The big plus in this memory upgrade experience has been the ease of working with this supplier. Originally, I ordered the wrong memory modules by mistake. Then I had to do an exchange and was worried about difficulties I might encounter in returning the wrong and ordering the right modules. It all turned out to be a straight-forward process. Not only did I get help in identifying the correct modules for upgrade but they made the return process for the incorrect modules very simple. This increased the RAM speed eight fold and now updates on virus protection and scans take 3-4 minutes instead of 25-30 minutes. Can also do these in the background while working on other programs.

Starts up my computer much faster, loads programs faster. Really thought it would increase my physical memory.. (I have 18 gb, but using 17 gb now) but I think that is due to my lack of knowledge about increasing physical memory). Overall VERY pleased, I intend to buy another one to max out how much my computer can take.

I was having problems running my Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Nikon Capture NX2 programs without the computer either locking up or taking forever to load. I was running 2x512's for 1gb of total ram.
After using the online software from Crucial to anylise my system; I chose 2x1gb Crucial DDR ram chips and have had no problems with slow speeds or computer lockup since installation.
