I primarily use my macbook pro for surfing, itunes and iphoto. The increase in speed is hard to notice. It really didn't make much difference between 2gb to 4gb. I will probably return it. Shipping was fast and installing it was a snap.

This product was recommended by a Crucial/Micron representative and by the computer scan from their site. But, it did not work in my computer. With the new memory installed, the computer would not boot up. It continually said, "You must restart your computer." When I reinstalled my original memory, no problem. Then I tried the new memory again and got the same message. [...]I returned the new memory. Now I will go to the Apple store and get new memory there. It will cost 2-1/2 times as much, but at least I know it will work. I guess memory that works is "cheap at any price!"

I recently ordered DDR2 for my MacBook Pro and needed DDR3 After a very short call to customer support the proper RAM is on the way. They charged only the difference in the cost of the memory. I use my MacBooPro extensively for business use, and let's face it! I got a serious performance increase! As a test, I continued to load applications to see if the system would slow down. I gave up after loading 2 different browsers, open office with 12 presentations, itunes, iweb, imovie, and also Quicktime!

The product works in random jumps. Overall, it wasn't worth my money. I upgraded my Macbook Pro's memory from 2GB to 4GB, and there was little or no difference after a few days. At first, blazing speeds! Amazing proformance! After about 2-3 days, it slowed right back down. Good concept, and with tweaks it would work fine. I guess, I have noticed some speed elevation, but not worth the [$] (I think..) that I paid for it. At least it didn't destroy my Mac!!

The RAM was very easy to install.
The performance is very good. Don't feel you have to spend the extra money for Kingston RAM. Crucial RAM is just as good and do not notice any negative issues with this RAM.

Application: I primarily use the PC for audio editing and live DJing. The computer runs lightning fast and I have not had 1 single application freeze.

This is the first time I have bought products from Crucial and I will definately recommend others to Crucial.

I allowed Crucial application to scan my MacBook Pro to determine the memory type / density required. The recommendation matched that specified for my system. I ordered with a high level of confidence given Crucial's reputation and the advertised claim of 'guaranteed compatibility'. However, my system would not boot after installation, although when original memory was installed all was fine. Tech support was of absolutely no help. Their only input was that my system probably required Samsung memory (not Micron) which they did not have in stock and they provided an RMA for me to ship the memory I received back. So much for 'guaranteed' compatibility.

Amazing! I paid 1/5 what apple.com wanted for the same product. The crucial program scans your computer and matches the ram to it so there is no mixup. I then snagged a youtube video of how to install. Presto!

Works just fine. Installed it in my 15" MBP and hasn't failed yet. Also got some a year ago for my wife's equivalent MBP. We play dual-box WoW after we're done working and we've had zero problems with the memory, and the bottom of the laptop gets VERY hot at that. Mine improved big time when going from 2 gig to 4. Was a LOT cheaper to go crucial.com too. Memory upgrades on apple's website when ordering is ridiculous, so order with default RAM, and get the upgrade here.

I've had my MacBook pro for almost 2 years- came with 2 GB. The cost of upgrading at Apple kept me from going to 4GB and I did not know how easy it was to do it myself. Someone told me about Crucial which is WAY more affordable, there were only three screws under the battery (super easy) it took me 5 minutes to upgrade and my MacBook Pro runs like lightning now! Wish I had done this sooner!

I use this computer, with the RAM upgrade, for audio recording/editing, as well as with Final Cut Pro. i can't really notice an increase in speed, but most of the improvement would be in background processing anyway.

Best buy I've been able to find. Crucial actually sent me the same Samsung brand memory that I pulled out of the MacBook Pro. Adding a pair of 2gb modules allowed me to run Vista and OSX much faster. Also, Final Cut Pro, Digidesign's Pro Tools, and Adobe's Photoshop take full advantage of the increased RAM, allowing me to work on bigger projects, without as much lag time.

i had just gotten the macbook pro and saw the recommendation for memory upgrade in the times online. i called apple and their price was very very high [...] i shopped around at[...] and [...] and their prices were about double the crucial price point. anyway it came in a few days and took less than 5 minutes to install and now i have a true screamer. i would tell anyone to shop here.

I suppose the best thing would have been to get memory upgraded at time of purchase. Apple Store's price for after-market upgrade was excessive (like[$] neighborhood), but they recommended Crucial. Good prices. There may have been instructions somewhere -- figured it out on my own, but visual instructions would have been helpful.
