At first, the memory wasn't recognized by my motherboard, but the customer service rep walked me through the problem, going so far as to email me a link to the bios update my motherboard needed. The Crucial customer service person did more to help me upgrade the motherboard than the customer service tech at the manufacturer of the motherboard! Just above and beyond. First rate. Now the memory is recognized and running flawlessly.

I upgraded from a low-MHz 2GB total memory to this total 4GB memory with faster MHz. Everything seems to work fine except that I can't really appreciate if there was an increase in speed/performance. I upgraded my 2GB memory on the spare computer to the maximum of 4GB (allowed by the motherboard) when I installed Windows 7. The install went fine and Windows recognized the increased memory right away. The Windows 7 assessment gave me a 5.5 score for the memory, about what I expected. Ordering was simple and service was fast. I also installed Crucial memory on my main computer without any problems.

Some trouble, since the ASUS motherboard I had would not recognize the added RAM without flashing the BIOS and doing this from POST was not an option in any BIOS screen. After downloading a program and flashing the BIOS all works well and in harmony. Not much disk swapping and subjectively, things feel more stable.

I bought two 2GB of this memory, and my system in Linux or Windows & both 64 bit OS's. Both systems froze for no reason, Going on a search I discovered the cause may be linked to the DRAM latency, you know the *-*-*-* numbers. I tried to find this info everywhere, but no where to be found even on the original packaging. I had to perform a mem test to find some info because all of my settings were set to auto and this may have been the cause. I found the settings there that my pc was using and they were 6-6-6-18. For those looking for this info, I know it was tough but as soon as i find out if this stops the freezing I'll update this, but those looking for this info there. Unknown if I'd recommend this.

In April of 2009 my brother-in-law built a new computer system for me. This system had 2X1GB sticks of RAM manufactured by a Crucial rival.

For a year I was plagued by Blue Screens of Death which would wreak havoc with my system.

First I would get the BSOD and reboot. The system would work for a day or two and then another BSOD would come up. This would continue with BSOD's occurring more frequently until eventually my computer would refuse to boot up at all. It was DEAD. MUERTO. MORT. VERSTORBENE. I would then have to reformat my hard drive and reload Windows which everyone knows is a huge pain in the tookas, even if you have faithfully backed up your system regularly.

I'd be good for a month or so and then the cycle would repeat.
BSOD, REBOOT, BSOD, REBOOT, BSOD, DEATH, REFORMAT, RELOAD, Rinse and repeat :(
This cycle of deep annoyance occurred FOUR TIMES.

I tried several different kinds of fixes such as unplugging different peripheral devices, replacing peripherals, updating drivers, etc, but eventually the BSOD would start happening again.

Finally, in late April, 2010, after I started getting the BSOD again I decided to just replace my original RAM with 1X2GB stick of Crucial RAM.

Drum roll...... NO MORE BLUE SCREENS OF DEATH! It was that simple:
1. I had the Blue Screen of Death
2. I replaced the old RAM with Crucial RAM
3. VOILA! System Normal. No more BSOD.

It was amazing, because the cycle of BSOD's had definitely begun again but the cycle was destroyed by my Crucial RAM!

Thank You Crucial, your RAM was CRUCIAL to ending my run of BSODs! Nothing but Crucial RAM in the future for me!

Yet another good Crucial experience. It arrived when expected and was in good condition.

I just unplugged the 2 chips I was replacing and plugged in the 2 new ones.

I went from 3GB to 6GB as part of a Windows 7 x64 upgrade. I could have gone to 8GB but the return on investment was best with replacing my (2) 512MB chips with (2) 2GB chips and keeping my (2) 1GB chips. My system runs quicker now and I can now run multiple virtual machines.

I got these to update our custom built xp desktop. The computer was an awesome midgrade gaming machine that was built when SLI first was getting popular a couple years ago. We only had 1gb of ram put in it when we ordered it and at the time it was all that was required, the times have changed and what was a ultra fast system had so much lag it was impossible to use so I picked these up before installing Windows 7. A major improvement and has brought new life into it I cant wait to see what it does with an SLI video card and windows 7 64 bit as well as a couple more of these 2 gb sticks.I will buy from them again

My computer was custom built by myself two years ago. From the first it would crash and blue screen at times. It was stable enough until I tried to upgrade to Windows 7. A MemTest 86 indicated memory problems and I ordered and installed the memory. All crashes have stopped and I was able to install Windows 7 and run it without problem.

I needed some additional RAM for my ASUS P5B-based system to run some video editing software, and someone recommended Crucial to me. Although I built the system myself, I still find all the different memory types a little baffling and I really liked the Crucial web page's motherboard-based recommendations. Memory went in fine and has run great. I haven't noticed any speed improvements, but software that failed with only 2 GB is running more reliably now that I have 4 (although XP only sees 3 of it). In short, this was an easy upgrade. I'll probably end up buying more once I upgrade to 64-bit Windows 7.

Worked well. Used crucial upgrade scanner program, told me to get these, so I ordered two. On second thought, I had to re-arrange my installation order of the ram chips. I installed them how Crucials program told me too, and one of them wasnt recognized.

Other than that they worked fine and I saw noticable increase in performance

I added 4GB to a 2GB server. The newly added memory is perfectly compatible with the original. I am using the server with VMware ESXi virtualization software. All 6GB was detected on boot.

Awesome memory! Had to get Crucial after trying so many terrible memory from Fry's Electronics, Office Depot, and Best Buy that kept crashing my system. looking for a plug and play memory, i opted for these modules. im using CAD alone, no games or other memory comsuming applications, and these ram memories will deff increase the speed. the only drawback is that im using windows XP and it reads only up to 4gig, but my mainboard nforce hold up to 8 gigs. nothing to do with the memory, just a hint what to look for. overall im please with this product. thanks A plus!

I had been collecting second hand parts for my nephew's graduation present since New Years, which is when he told me his old Athlon based rig wasn't able to run the new WoW expansion I got him for Christmas. The problem I came into was a second hand motherboard that wouldn't recognize any of the DDR2 RAM I had available. I recalled Crucial's compatibility site from my years in callcenter TS, plugged in the manufacturer and model# and paid via paypal.

Long story made short: My nephew now has a great new Core 2 Duo rig that cost less than the WoW expansion itself - thanks to Crucial's site (and a bunch of old friends).

Was concerned if it would work with the 'slower' 1 gig stick already in my puter. FAQ suggested the new stick would 'clock down' to the old stick speed, if I understood it correctly. The puter did not work with both sticks, so had to remove the old one.

I bought 4 of these sticks all at once to max out my computer with 8gb of RAM. I upgraded from 2gb and the improvement on Vista is amazing! The computer now boots up to the desktop screen in about 50 seconds! (I timed it.) Crucial RAM is the best brand of RAM out there in terms of reliability and performance. A must buy for anyone looking for a fairly inexpensive way of speeding up their computer.

I bought 8GBs of ram because I upgraded my OS to Vista Ultimate 64bit... though 8GBs of RAM is a bit over the top, I can definitely feel a performance increase and have clocked my machine to use a good 6GB of it... allowing some room to breathe. Crucial is a great company, and I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

I built a new PC because I needed a faster machine to perform large volume, complex 3D algorithms. After selecting the motherboard, it was very helpful to be able the use the Crucial website to select the motherboard and be offered a list of memory options that match the motherboard configuration. It made that decision very easy ... two 2GB PC-6400 modules.

This particular memory runs at 1.8 volts - which is necessary for some Intel brand motherboards. I am using this memory in Intel MOBO based file servers running Linux. The memory is rock stable. The memory sticks also run nice and cool - no heat sinks are required.
